This build failure (at least the one in the logs posted here) is due to
broken dependencies in OpenCV at the time of the build and not freemedforms'
fault at all.
Sure, but I no longer have the resources to actively look into what
causes the build failures---whatever they may be.

I don't see why you want to explicitly retire the package on such a short
notice (1 week) instead of letting the regular processes take care of it.
Because it can only be retired from F31 before Final Freeze---and that
for F31 is on 2019-10-08
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_remove_a_package_at_end_of_life#Pro...
Have I misunderstood this?
If you want somebody else to pick up the package, please orphan it
rather
than retiring it, so people at least get 6 weeks to fix it (or, since it
also FTBFS, the time frame left in the FTBFS process, whichever is shorter,
but this is an F31 FTBFS, so the 6 weeks from the orphaning process will be
the shorter deadline).
We already have retirement processes with pretty short deadlines. Please do
not explicitly retire packages even sooner, at least not without a good
reason to do so. An FTBFS due to a broken buildroot is no such reason.
Thanks for your input. I always appreciate it. However, I'm the
maintainer here so it would not be wrong to assume that I decide whether
the reason is good enough or not. In this case:
- upstream maintains and supports the package officially on
Debian---they even provide paid support:
https://freemedforms.com/en/downloads/root
- upstream no longer makes the development code available (for reasons
that are not worth discussing here):
https://freemedforms.com/en/downloads/sources
So, I would prefer it be retired, but fine I've orphaned it and will let
the process retire it eventually.
