How to change FAS username and email

I'm having a hard time finding anything about this...

1. I need to change my email address. As I recall, when my Fedora account was first
created, it was supposed to automatically link to my existing Red Hat Bugzilla account as
long as they both used the same email. Right? I just want to confirm that the accounts
will stay linked when updating my email.

2. I'm also considering changing my FAS nick/username; it's an oblique reference
to something that I don't want to use as my name anymore. I asume this would require
submitting a ticket to Pagure, but I'm not sure which section to file it under.

This is not possible. You can only create a new account and ask at 
https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issues to transfer your group memberships.

It is likely, however, that it will be supported in our upcoming new account
system. See https://github.com/fedora-infra/noggin/issues/105

Is there a ballpark estimate on when we'll switch to the new account system?

I'd love to know too, as I'm also keen on changing my nick (and I
know
of others too).

When it is ready?  (that is a joke, mostly).

Late last February there was a post from the
CPE AAA team with a status update on the
project, which had a reference to outstanding
issues and to the current project scrum board
( https://github.com/orgs/fedora-infra/projects/6 )
which using an eyeball suggests that the project
is only around 60% ready (of course I have
no idea if the last 40% will involve 10% of the
total work, or 90% of the total work).

I would agree that it would be good to get
a new status update this year with some
target dates (even if the answer is "when
it is ready").

Soon. We have staging pretty close to all working, so I would expect
sometime in the next weeks. We will announce deployment plans as we make
them.

help by testing (no change in AAA systems

Will do. Likely we will announce here when we are ready for more testing
in staging (very soon).

OTOH many Fedora systems use the FAS name as an identifier so even if the 
account system supports this, it will confuse badges, etc.

I do not recall the various related dependency status,
but I am pretty sure the case of badges was actually
referenced in the scrum board.

Of course you are also correct that there may be other
systems that that have not been considered.  It would
probably be a useful effort for those with an interest
to go review the completed and outstanding issues
to make sure their favorite ancillary systems have
been included.
