I've seen that a few times in Evolution.  The message appears to be
empty, but if you select a different message and then re-select the
original, the body content is there.  I can't reproduce it manually,
it's just one of those things that sometimes happens.

I see this occasionally too.  I've filed a bug report about it here:

Is this what you're seeing, or did the message actually fail to download
properly?

It looks like it just did did not download properly.  I'll check
tomorrows update-report to see if it will be OK when I select other
messages, but iirc that was not the case.

In my cases, it appears that the message downloaded properly since when
I click off of it, then click back on it, it appears instantly, there is
no delay while it is retrieving the message, etc.  My backend is FC3
dovecot as well, fwiw.

I'm using dovecot-0.99.10.9-1.FC3.2 for the server (Mulberry for client) 
and dovecot sometimes "loses" message parts, but selecting another IMAP 
folder and then the original will sometimes cure it. Or I may need to drag 
the message to another folder. It's intermittent so I've been unable to get 
a reproducible test case to debug it. I'm pretty sure it's dovecot's 
failure as evidenced by logging the IMAP protocol from Mulberry.

Ok, it us UW imapd 2004a I believe.  It is using dmail to deliver with
procmail.

Sometimes I am getting empty mails from the buildsystem, too. The
last one was from 20041224. This came though normally.
