Hi everyone,
I am preparing a rebase for the shadow package in Rawhide. This update includes a libsubid library version bump (SONAME bump).
To prevent breaking the ecosystem, I have successfully built the new shadow package inside an isolated side-tag: f45-build-side-144465. The build repository has already been regenerated and is ready.
According to repoqueries, the following packages need to be rebuilt against the new library version inside this side-tag:
-
apptainer -
buildah -
podman -
skopeo
*Maintainers:* Can you please bump the release of your respective packages and trigger a build targeting this side-tag? You can do this by running:
fedpkg build --target=f45-build-side-144465
Once all dependent packages successfully build in the side-tag, I will submit the Bodhi update to pull everything into Rawhide simultaneously.
Apologies, I messed up the bodhi creation and separate updates were created . Seems apptainer got pushed to stable despite adding negative karma. I have unpushed podman, buildah and skopeo so we're ok there. shadow-utils seems to have failed gating so we should be ok there too.
@dwd, would you mind doing a rebuild to that sidetag please?
I suspect we may need a rebuild for shadow-utils as well.

Thank you for announcing and working on this!
According to repoqueries, the following packages need to be rebuilt against the new library version inside this side-tag:

It looks like singularity-ce still needs to be rebuilt here, and there are two builds of shadow-utils in the sidetag, so one of them needs to be untagged before the sidetag can be submitted to Bodhi and merged.

I submitted a rebuild for singularity-ce [1] and untagged shadow-utils-4.20.0.rc3-1.fc45 in favor of shadow-utils-4.20.0-1.fc45.

Thanks all for handling this!
I'm trying to submit a bodhi update (this time hopefully the right way), but it's not letting me, saying I don't have commit access to apptainer, shadow-utils and singularity-ce.
Maybe only the sidetag owner (Iker / shadow-utils team) can create this?

Seems shadow-utils maintainers can't create the bodhi either.
I filed https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13452 .

I submitted https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2026-06e3d92054. Some of the tests are failing so that needs to be looked into before the update can be merged.
tier0 tests on buildah failed apparently because of a package conflict:
Failed to resolve the transaction: Problem: package apptainer-1.5.3-6.fc45.x86_64 from @commandline conflicts with sif-runtime provided by singularity-ce-4.5.0-3.fc45.x86_64 from @commandline
this may be the known-problematic Fedora CI behavior where it always tries to install all packages from the update together, even if they explicitly conflict with each other. If so the failure can probably be waived.

+1 to waiving.
