in reply to self
it seems that the problem is related with some automount on
fstab-sync/hotplug (?) that nautilus/gnome tries to override.
in fstab i've got:
/dev/sdc1 /media/usbdisk4 ext3
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
/dev/sdc2 /media/usbdisk5 ext3
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
but when I try to access the drive on nautilus, i've got this message:
mount: /dev/sdc2 already mounted or /media/usbdisk5 busy
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sdc2 is already mounted on /media/usbdisk5
Anyone with the same problem?

While using my camera with fedora, I've got this problem and
cannot use
nautilus on the device (computer, camera), but rather on the mount point
(/media/usbdisk).

Also, on fstab and after the unplug the /sda1 device is still mounted:
[root@morpheus log]# grep 'vfat' /etc/fstab
/dev/sda1 /media/usbdisk vfat
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
[root@morpheus log]#
