This has been very helpful, and I have been bui9lding and publishing
binaries based on these src.rpm files @SpeakupModified.Org.

However, there's now a problem where the src.rpms are not retrievable
via the URI provided. The pointers suggest a late January src.rpm, and
another on February 10, both of which have been yielding 404 errors.

Thanks for the fix.

If anyone's interested in the binaries, they're at
http://SpeakupModified.Org. ff3 is of paramount importance to a11y being
the reason we are concerned to track closely on this.

Now that we're at the beginning of F-9 development, I'd like to
resurrect this question regarding Firefox 3. Can we expect FF3 in F-9?
It is slated for release during the development cycle, as I understand
it.

Meanwhile, I can attest the a11y support in FF3, which I have been
building from Takanori San's SRPMS. Hopefully, the yelp and devhelp
conflicts will now also prove historical.

Yes, I think it makes sense.  We should toss up a Feature page for it
probably.  Or perhaps combine it with a XULRunner feature, because
it will make getting Fx3 in significantly easier if other packages are
converted to xulrunner to avoid breaking them.

I wanted xulrunner so bad leading up to f8.. i was tempted to build a
time machine, go to the future, package xulrunner and ff3 and learn
who was going to win the world series, then bring the packages back
with me to the present and make a hefty vegas bet.

Stay tuned for an update in the next two weeks.  We got this working 
last week, but there's a few things we want to clean up before it's put 
into rawhide.  Putting it into rawhide will also mean breaking several 
things such as epiphany, yelp, devhelp, and every other application that 
uses gecko right now.  So there is a high cost that we want to be in a 
position to communicate well as to the proper way to solve rather than 
simply leave broken for people to figure it out.

The package is based on firefox-2.0.0.8-2.
It includes some adhoc artifice to success to build.

libgtkembedmoz.so and libxpcom.so is not built by default. now.
This change may affects yelp and devhelp (and AdobeReader-8.*) packages.

Feel free to incorporate to firefox package in Fedora.

     Good News that last week
mozilla developers resolved all beta1
blocker bugs. According to their weekly meeting status, beta1 is code
complete now. So I am waiting for Firefox 3's Beta1(M9) release. once
its released we can think on its inclusion in rawhide.

I have been building from your srpms with excellent results--until very
recently. Beginning AFTER firefox-3.0a9pre-2007102116_trunk.fc7, I am
unable to rpmbuild either F-7 or F-8, including your srpm of the new FF3
Beta. I get:

error: line 1212: Dependency tokens must begin with alpha-numeric, '_' or
'/': - Initial RPM release.

error: Failed to find Provides:
    File listed twice: /usr/lib64/firefox-3.0b2pre/updater.ini
    line 1212: Dependency tokens must begin with alpha-numeric, '_' or

Since 1212 is actually the eof of the .spec, I suspect some other subtle
problem that I have not been able to identify.

OK, I added %{mozappdir}/crashreporter to the %files list, and it 
built successfully.  Someone should probably take a look at what to do 
about the fact that the process for finding provides is presenting an 
arglist to sed that needs to be split up somehow.

May I venture that a11y is looking for an upversioning in Gecko across
the board? As things stand, the current help system is inaccessible. The
Mozilla and Gnome Summits last month both decided to try and move
distributions toward Gecko 1.9 (at least) in order to make help more
usable through alternative interfaces. So, hopefully, the "right thing
to do" will include newer Gecko.
