"beehive", the Red hat internal buildsystem is Red Hat internal-only

Since it is highly customized in-house software, and is not available
in any form outside of Red Hat, it isn't really open source nor
proprietary, but rather "unavailable".
This is not a bad thing however. ;o)
The mock buildsystem, and plague et al. are much more useful to the
community for building packages, and are both open source, and
publically available, and are not tied to Red Hat operating systems,
nor tied to various internal infrastructure at Red Hat.
In the (hopefully near) future, our internal buildsystem will be
replaced by something else. I'm not sure if it will be mock based,
or some alternative internal construction however.
Believe me when I say this: you do not want to run beehive. ;o)

I can perhaps do even better than that... There is a book entitled
"What is Sarbanes Oxley?" written by Guy P. Lander, ISBN:0-07-143796-7
which details various aspects of what Sarbanes-Oxley requires
publically traded corporations must do in order to be compliant with
the law.
The book should answer most of your questions pertaining to the
above. If there are further questions after reading the book
however, you may prefer to discuss things further with an attourney
to get a deeper understanding.

Sometimes RH has contracts for which a part of the payment depends on
delivering certain functionality (eg packages) at certain dates, usually
as part of a RHEL release. SOX then dictates that a company needs to be
in full control and have an accurate record of the actual occurrence of
this contractual event and the steps leading to it. So this includes
authentication, record keeping, reproducability etc which for practical
purposes need to tie into the other infrastructure at RH to be useful in
this sense.

are you using a rawhide glibc (and a new enough one at that)?

I'm current with all of rawhide (I ran yum update for this update and
installed everything offered (and it worked ;-]))

Actually, undefined __stack_chk_fail_local (as opposed to undefined
__stack_chk_fail) means busted shared library.
My guess is that it has been linked with ld -shared as opposed
to gcc -shared or some similarly common error.
