Hiya Dolores, and welcome to Fedora CommOps! We're happy to have you
here. :)
Community outreach and diversity efforts are one of the things CommOps
is helping with in Fedora. Eventually, there might be a formal Diversity
working group down the line too, with tatica's recent appointment as the
Diversity Adviser. For me personally, it's really cool to see people
from other distributions and communities join forces to accomplish the
same types of goals. There's so many things we can all help each other
with and that type of cross-community collaboration is what the spirit
of open source is all about.
We're looking forward to having you here in both CommOps and Fedora. If
you have any questions about anything, please feel free to ask either in
IRC or the mailing list at any time. :)

Fedora Women Day 2016 planning
by Justin W. Flory
Hi all,
As was discussed in Tuesday's Diversity meeting, I was going to create
the event page for Fedora Women Day 2016 using some other event
templates I've used. The page now exists, and you can find details for
it here.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Women_Day_2016
There's not much info on there yet, but this wiki page should make a
good location for putting related information and planning in a single
place where anyone can refer back to it.
I'm about to be leaving for a little bit so I didn't put down an event
description yet, but someone might also be able to write up something
better for that too.
Discussion about Fedora Women Day should happen on
diversity(a)lists.fedoraproject.org.
Thanks all! :)

Thanks Huiren, that would be awesome! Once the plans are a little more
settled, it wouldn't be a bad idea to share this on the Ambassadors list
(it's still a work-in-progress for an event planning for how local
events might be planned).
As for the agenda, I believe these are some of the details we're hoping
to wrap up on soon. ;) We have a fair amount of time, but hopefully at
the next Diversity meeting on Tuesday, we can try to cover more about
what the event will consist of and put this on the wiki page.

Meeting Change
by María Leandro
Hello all.
I'm deeply sorry that have been having troubles to make the appointed time
for meetings. I'm in the middle of a construction and my early mornings are
stuck with running errands.
In order to make the most of everyone's time, I've filled a whenisgood so
everyone can select the day/time of their convenience.

Please, if you have another hour in mind, don't hesitate on tell me.
Remember to select your timezone!

Flock Submission for Women in open source.
by Amita
Hello Everyone,
As promised, below is my submission for flock. Feel free to pitch in to
add more value.
women in open source
=========================
My paper will highlight different aspect of diversity and how fedora is
supporting diversity in all terms, but my paper is focused more on women.
It is wonderful to be a women. A powerful gender that supports the
rights and equality of women.
Be it social, political, economic, cultural or open source - women
should have equal rights.
But, If we look at the percentage of women participation in any filed,
be it open source or any other field, ratio is damn poor. We, being in
the eligible category to guide other women for open source culture,
should take steps forward to make this ratio better. I know, taking
initiative in this man dominant world, is not easy. But together, we can
and we will make the difference. Every tiny little step counts, like
educating poor female children, reaching out to college girls to spread
knowledge and opportunities about open source, educating them about Ada
Initiative, the GNOME Project’s Outreach Program for Women, OpenHatch
and Women in Drupal, pyladies, GSOC. There are so many nice outreach
programs for women in open source, we just need to spread the knowledge
and motivate every women out there to join the movement. There are lots
of things to do, it is not just coding in fact, you can do many
different plus exciting things in open source i.e. writing,
documentation, designing, translation, testing etc.
It is duty of every established women in open source to take a pledge
that she will educate/help/motivate atleast 2 other women in her life
span to join open source community and make this open source culture
more lovable and beautiful and little more feminist.
Thanks & Regards,
Amita(Ami)

Flock Proposal = "Diversity Panel: Building an inclusive community"
by María Leandro
Hello All!
I'm about to propose a Panel for Flock, where we can have representatives
from diverse minorities to speak up about their experience. The idea is to
let people know how diverse we are, how we come up with that and how we
keep doing great work within Fedora.
I would be interested on have at least 3 members to work out this with me,
but time is running out, we don't have much time.
Please, share this email with your friends and let them know what's going
up.
NOTE: It can be either people who will attend to Flock or people that is
willing to do video (hangout or recordings)
Thank you all!
