Hello,
I am Chhavi, a design student from IIT, India. I started contributing to
Fedora Design team last December. I did a mini project about stories of
girls in an IIT : the skewed ratio project
<http://chhavishrivastava.com/skewedproject/>. I guess you might like it :)
Apart from that, I am helping bee form a FOSS women group here in our
college. I have basic video editing skills, so I am happy to help with the
upcoming video.
Diversity in a community is something I am passionate about because I have
experienced the subtle stereotypes and the invisible barriers in such a
progressive technical university. I can only imagine out there, how much we
need efforts like these! If there is anything I can help with, I will be
glad to :)
I have joined the IRC with nick chhavi_ and am part of fedora-design and
fedora-women.
Looking forward to this journey with you guys!
Warm Regards :)

Dear all,
You are kindly invited to the meeting:
Diversity Team IRC Meeting on 2017-04-19 from 07:00:00 to 08:00:00 US/Eastern
At fedora-meeting(a)irc.freenode.net
The meeting will be about:
Every week, the [Diversity Team](https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Diversity) meets to discuss items on our [agenda](https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issues).
The goal of this diversity initiative is to help promote an inclusive community within Fedora. To do this, we assist the Diversity Advisor with the planning and implementation of diversity efforts such as the enforcement of the code of conduct, creating content highlighting the diverse community in Fedora, and offering workshops and fostering communication between Fedora sub-projects.

We are trying to resolve "How does Diversity interact with other sigs/groups? What concrete and planned efforts are there?"
Here are some example -
====================
1. Providing resources to enable the Fedora contributors to foster diversity and inclusion in their teams.
2. Using survey data, identify key teams to focus on for Diversity and Inclusion strategy
3. CommOps and Diversity - Diversity leveraging CommOps for Outreach, CommOps helping Diversity to understand community and its’ needs.
4. Ambassadors and Diversity - Create strategies targeted towards onboarding contributors from underrepresented groups at conferences and events.
5. Marketing and Diversity - Create content on Fedora Magazine to promote awareness about diverse Fedora community
Next Action Item is to breakdown these points into smaller action items.
I believe we already have some tickets, which can be mapped to this issue. like -

FLISOL is the largest event in latam, being held in over 200 cities at the same time. It is on April 22 this year. Having diversity focused outreach will help onboard contributors from Hispanic and other communities in LATAM.
This ticket is related to #11 which covers events planning through out the year and FLISOL is one of the key events suggested there.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia[1][2][3] is observed on May 17 and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBT rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBT rights work worldwide. It would be great if we have some event on this day. In #11, @tatica suggested we have a panel, however I am open to discussion on this.
#21 links the strategy plan for FLISOL and could be used for reference. However, I suggest we have a more active presence for LGBT Awareness Day.

We had a list of proposed talks for Fedora Magazine on Diversity team wiki page. I feel this is more appropriate for Pagure than Magazine and once we publish these articles we can add their links to wiki.
Here are a few proposed talks with contact people -
* Disabilities in IT (Leanderthal, Magui, Tatica)
* GSoC Female Participation (marinaz, amita)
To be interviewed : mizmo, ebicha, labbot, amita, bee2502, rbergeron
Please feel free to add feedback or propose new ideas for Magazine or CommBlog related to Diversity and Inclusion.
