This will help us in future to keep track of all FLOCK related discussions by Diversity team. For FLOCK related events, I want to suggest two things - 1. Talk with an Open Floor in the end on the work Diversity team has been doing in the past, what we are currently working on and our strategy for the upcoming year. I think this will be a bit similar to Council report in #17 but I feel that having this discussion at FLOCK is important to creating awareness about Diversity team and our work. Also, we can get valuable inputs from the community and help onboard newcomers. 2. A 1.5- 2 hr long session on specific issues important to Diversity team's goals in upcoming year. It could be a BoF like @marinaz suggested or a workshop-cum-Panel/ open table discussion. Add the existing events to Diversity Team Fedocal so we know when they are around and begin our planning for them i.e. generating content pre and post event for CommBlog 2. Hi All, Other than happiness packet challenge, there is one more interesting challenge is going on, which is a blogging challenge [1] . There is lots of learning and knowledge one can gain by reading these blogs. How to check these blogs - You can find anybody who wrote blog posts on by searching twitter for #osscommunities. jflory7 reported a new issue against the project: `fedora-diversity` that you are following: `` **Discussed in [2017-02-08 meeting](https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/teams/diversity/diversity.2017-0… # Summary Now that the Diversity FAD has concluded ( #8 ), we need to write an official report on the Community Blog, and individuals are encouraged to write their own reports for their own blogs or publishing platform of choice. # Analysis One of the questions I heard most during DevConf when people found out about our FAD was, "Awesome! What happens in a Diversity FAD?" Ideally, our reports should help answer this question and show what we worked on, what we accomplished, and what our goals for the future are. In the official report, tying it back to the [logic model](https://fedoraproject.org/w/uploads/b/bc/Diversity_FAD_2017_Logic_Mo… will be important to communicate how we met our originally proposed goals. Hi everyone, The team event report, "Mission to understand: Fedora Diversity FAD 2017" is now ready for final review on the Community Blog: https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/?p=3666&preview=1&_ppp=24cc714a3f Please take some time to review it and offer any feedback you have on it. If it looks good, we can have this published at the beginning of next week. As some background context for why it dragged out for so long, I was unhappy with the original draft and was having problems conveying some of the message about the value and purpose behind some of our work. I almost did a full rewrite and did some reorganization and expansion, but I feel much better about this now. Hey Diversity Team, I wanted to challenge everyone to join me next week in the #HappinessPacketChallenge! https://blog.justinwflory.com/2017/04/happiness-packets-challenge/ Happiness Packets are like thank-you cards for open source users or contributors. You can send a packet to anyone for anything. Your message can be as short or as long as you like. You can put your name on your message or you can keep it totally anonymous. So, what is the #HappinessPacketChallenge? I challenge you to do the following: write at least one Happiness Packet (or more!) every day for one week. At a minimum, this is only seven times where you say "thank you" to someone else in open source. Of course, you can send more if you want to. You can find more details in the blog post linked above. (2) Would lengthening the meeting by 30min help productivity? (3) Are there other ways we can improve our meetings? ======================================================================= Hey everyone, During our meeting today, we had a brief discussion towards the end about our meeting times and whether they are effective. For the past few meetings after the FAD, activity hasn't been consistent. In February, our meetings had seven attendees, but across March and April so far, our meetings have been between 3-5 active participants. The past few months have been busy for a lot of people for different reasons, but we were thinking it might be helpful to check in and see what people are thinking about the existing meeting time. Would it be helpful to move it to a different day or time? Is there something that would help make the meeting time more accessible? We were thinking two things today in the meeting: (1) Possibly finding a new time (2) Extending meeting time slot by 30 minutes We're most effective when we have active participation and we have sufficient time to cover our topics. We would be interested to know what you all think about this and if a new time would work well. If you have any other feedback on how to make our meetings more accessible or engaging? +1 on audio/video meetings. It might help us resolve tickets or brainstorm faster - like hack sessions perhaps. Maybe one of the two monthly meetings could be in audio/video ? Also, I wanted to attend the last meeting but since DST changed the timezones it became tough i.e. if the meetings are at UTC 1200 the meeting should always be at 1730 in India since India doesn't follow DST but last meeting happened at 1630 due DST change.
