[fedora-d&i] [suggestion] Migrate event guidelines to Google Doc?
by Justin W. Flory
Hi all,
I am proposing to migrate the event guidelines into a Google Doc to
provide a single place to point people (with authenticated protection
and commenting) and also provide an easier interface for commenting and
suggesting changes.
Currently, the guidelines live in this Etherpad:
https://etherpad.persephone.cloud/p/FedoraEventGuidelines
I was reviewing Dyuti's CommBlog draft for the event guidelines post
today and realized it would be helpful to point people to one place to
read the guidelines. When I was reviewing the original Etherpad, it was
difficult to follow between actual content and comments. I think this is
a problem others who review the event guidelines will also face, and
decrease the chances of receiving meaningful feedback.
Even though Google Docs isn't open source, the benefits it provides for
us to collect meaningful feedback, assist our outreach effort, and more
effectively meet our goals seems worth it.
I can migrate the content before the end of Friday if helpful. I think
it will expedite the speed we can get the Community Blog article
published too.
Please let me know your thoughts on migrating the event guidelines into
a publicly-visible Google Doc. Otherwise, I will do this before the end
of day Friday to help keep momentum with the CommBlog article.
Thanks!

[fedora-d&i] [Minutes] [2018-07-27] FWD planning and Flock prep for event guidelines
by Justin W. Flory
Hi all, we had a full meeting today!
We briefly covered the Outreachy blog post – I am planning to get to
this over the weekend.
We spent most of our time following up on FWD planning items and making
sure we are on track for launch. See the Trello board for more info. We
also spent some time covering our Flock session prep and the event
guidelines as well.
Details should be well-noted in the meeting minutes summary. Thanks
everyone for coming out and participating!

[fedora-d&i] FWD Trello board to help us plan tasks
by Justin W. Flory
Hi all,
As discussed earlier this week, I set up a Trello board for us to use
specifically for Fedora Women's Day, to track tasks and ongoing work.
https://trello.com/b/uRiZy4xF/fedora-womens-day-2018
The board is set up as a basic kanban set-up with four columns:
* Backlog: Tasks which cannot be worked on yet (but need to remember)
* To do: Tasks that can be started on
* In progress: Tasks that are started (should be assigned to someone)
* Done: Tasks that are complete
I invited most members of the team actively involved with planning – you
should have an email invitation, or if you sign into Trello, you should
have access. The board is public and anyone with an account can also
comment on cards, even without being a member.
Some examples are set up there to help us get started. I may have missed
some things. Feel free to add new cards or details to existing ones (for
example, the resource package card has a check-list of some suggested
tasks inside).
Originally, I tried to use Taiga but found it difficult to work with
because it was heavily customized for software projects. The user
documentation for this use case was not helpful to me either. So I
decided to use Trello in favor of using a tool that would require less
fighting to get started and using it.
This should help keep us more organized and easier to track smaller
pieces of FWD planning outside of the main ticket in our Pagure. Let me
know if you have any feedback or questions on the board!

Hi Charles-Antoine, I was curious if the woman mentioned any of the
software she found useful in Fedora. I'd be curious to know what
software or tools in Fedora are helpful for visually-impaired people.
Thanks for sharing!
