Has anyone found out whether our ACLs are working properly for the wiki
under the Docs/Drafts/* namespace? Users should not have to add
themselves to DocWritersGroup to work on drafts, for instance. This
would be a great "quickie" research task for a new contributor, or
someone short on time looking for something easy to do.

Help need on Structure of Docs

Hi,
When I checked out "fedora-release-notes-f-7", I don't remember the
exact name, I'm in office right now :P , the files were inside the
example-tutorial, shouldn't they be @ docs-common level ?
Can anybody point me to the documentation of the Structure of the Docs
, CVS modules, etc

New start page in homepage module

I've updated the homepage module, and the release-notes module materials
for building the fedora-release-notes package sources, with the new
start page content. (I am operating under the assumption at this point
that people have been spreading the word about this, especially since my
F8 test2 install's Firefox home page seems to default to
http://start.fedoraproject.org/.)
The 'xml2po' tool fortunately has no problem understanding XHTML, so I
was able to import the page design directly for use in our
translator-friendly tool system. The changes should be carried in the
next POT update through normal channels.
If we don't want this content on the file system, or if someone knows
where the page content is heading, now would be a good time to let us
know. :-) Contact me at the FDP (fedora-docs-list(a)redhat.com) so we can
revert the content to the old stuff in that case, which should not
present a problem. The changes I made preserved the old strings and
translations so it will not mean extra work for the translators.

Self Introduction: Mike "Ditt" Dittmeier

* I'm looking forward to creating user and admin guides, that deal
with the individual services usable by small businesses and independent
IT consultants. My ultimate goal is to produce a "Cook Book" style guide
for building a small business server from scratch.
* Historical qualifications
o I have been producing documentation for customers and IT
Staff for the past 15 years. Examples include end user training for
using new or updated systems, and even installation and troubleshooting
guides for data center staff to be able to reproduce an entire
collocation facility.
o My primary skills have been in the IT Operations side:
Networking
Server installs and support
Application install and support
Monitoring systems
Automation
I have implemented source control programs, bug tracking systems, and
even ticketing systems for use with Network Operations Center(NOC) issue
tracking. I have assisted Quality Assurance(QA) teams by installing and
configuring Load test systems (Mercury Test Suite) for evaluation system
performance and application tuning.
My primary job now days include supervising and creating direction for
the IT Project Management staff. This has required many hours in a
classroom teaching my staff and the rest of IT principles of IT Project
life cycles, change control management.
I have in the last few years begun learning to program using LAMP
technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP).
o Skills? Certifications I have had throughout my career so
far include MCSE, RHCE, and CCNA. I am currently working on my Project
Management Professional(PMP), and RHEL5 RHCE track. I also love building
PHP and MySQL applications.
o What makes you an excellent match for the project? My love
for Open Source Solutions, and love for documenting repeatable
processes. Just plain PASSION!!!
