F10 Schedule Revised
by John Poelstra
I have published updated schedules based on the great gobby editing
sessions we had this week with the Documentation and Translation teams.
Note each schedule only shows the tasks for that specific team... we
can adjust this if that is confusing:
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-docs-tasks.html
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-trans-tasks.html
For a view of all combined tasks for all teams:
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-all-tasks.html
As I mentioned during the Documentation session, I hope this process
isn't too frustrating. I think it will take a few iterations to make
sure we are all using and understanding the same terminology. There is
probably still some work to be done around the 0-day tasks as someone
pointed out on the translation list.
So next I'm proposing that both Documentation and Translation meet on
gobby and if possible fedora talk (for audio conversation) next week to
work out the remaining points of difference and confusion :)
Thanks again for your patience and I hope this process is helpful.

docs beat format
by Jens-Ulrik Petersen
Hi,
I was trying to clean up the docs beat hierarchy a little so that the the contents list looks right.
What should the default toplevel header be in a docs beat page? I mean level 1 ("= Beat Title =") or level 2 ("== Beat Title ==")? It looks to me like it should probably be "==" but some pages are using "=".
It would be nice to make it consistent to make it easy to browse the docs beats page and encourage more people to contribute.
Thanks,
Jens

Beats - Need more time
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi,
For the beats, I am working on - Overview and desktop, I still need more
time to be able to fill it up with important content. Desktop beat is
mostly done but overview still hasn't been touched. I will be able to
complete it within a day.

#publican channel on irc.freenode
by Michael Hideo Smith
Folks,
I am by no means an expert but if you are having problems using publican and docbook XML (either from scratch or if you are converting an existing document over) join me in #publican on freenode and i'll do my best to help out.
Cheers,
Mike

Fedora Elections Guide - ...---... (SOS)
by Nigel Jones
Hi folks,
I just made a post to fedora-marketing-list inviting interested people
into helping write some fresh content for the Fedora Elections Guide, a
draft I did a few months back can be seen at
http://nigelj.fedorapeople.org/feg/ but it'll need a lot of updating
(that I don't have time for) with the new release I'm working on.
I'll be putting the Fedora branding on (so where it does GFDL, I'll
relicense it as OPL) and throw up the XML sometime soon. But in the
mean time, anyone interested?
It'll be about a week before there is anything new to write about, but
it's a start.
- Nigel

input on F10 virtualization release notes
by Dale Bewley
I've been working on the virtualization release notes[1] for Fedora 10
these past several days, and I'm looking for input from those in the
know. The advances coming out of the Emerging Technologies projects and
Fedora in general are very impressive, and I'd like to do them justice.
I added a lot of content quickly yesterday, and the page structure
is by no means solid, but there is a pending freeze[2] on October
10th. I'd like to get it into the best and most accurate shape
possible before then. There will be a chance to make updates again
before the F10 release.
I've attempted to describe the improvements to virtualization-related
packages between the F9 release versions and the anticipated F10
versions. I've created a table[3] of those versions to help with the
comparison. I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know:
* if you believe a version bump is pending
* if I've left out any packages or features
* if I included something not noteworthy
* anything else you have to say
If you have any comments, contributions, or criticisms at all, please
add them to the wiki article/talk page/or email them to me.
Thanks! And keep up the great work!

fedora-wiki-list?
by Karsten Wade
Nigel proposed today that we form a separate list for wiki-focused
discussions.
Much as I hate promoting list proliferation, these reasons make sense:
* Cross-section of many Fedora groups that could use a low(er) volume,
wiki-only list for: guidelines; usage; new tools; tips; wiki-specific
decisions that affect all projects; etc.
* These same people (packagers, artists, translators, coders,
ambassadors, etc.) don't want nor need to be subscribed to
fedora-docs-list to get this information.
* Especially as we talk about multi-lingual wikis and the complexity
increases, we could use a stand-alone list for discussion.
Thoughts?
+1 or -1 or 0?
cheers - Karsten

Some of the users may be having no prior experience with computers.
Manuals for such people should include screen shots ... and that is
an optimization problem!

1. New user does not learn about the name of the Add/Remove Software
program. The first occurrence of "Add/Remove Software program" can be
replaced by "Add/Remove Software program (called 'Pirut')".
2. 'kicker' is the whole of the main panel. "Fedora icon in the lower
left corner called the Kicker" is just wrong.
3. There are two minor typos towards the end...."kickerand" and a
missing 'on' in the last line
Otherwise, it is good.
Best
