Musicians' Guide.

Hello: Several weeks ago, I sent this list some emails about a proposal for the Summer Coding 2010 project. This proposal was approved, so I will be writing a "Musicians' Guide" for Fedora 14. This new guide will cover aspects of using certain music and audio applications in Fedora Linux, and also some strategies to optimize a Fedora Linux system for audio production. I've already begun to organize the writing process, and, as per Rudi's advice, have added the new guide to both the "Docs Project guide goals for F14" and the "Docs Project guides table" wiki pages. I have also requested hosting from Fedora Infrastructure, which will be linked to the other two pages when available. I look forward to working with the Fedora community this summer. The opportunity to contribute something meaningful is greatly appreciated! Christopher.

We continue to get kudos from the readers out there, which is most awesome. Earlier today we did get a bit of "I wish I could have seen X in your RNs"[1]. The requester's problem is not that we didn't talk about the new backup solution but rather we didn't talk about the fact that the old solution went away. What I envision is a categorical representation of changes. This means, in this case, that the default backup solution for Fedora changed. We should not only document the change but also talk about what's going to happen to the previous default and maybe a migration path. This is going to take better communication with developers and probably RELENG. I'm open to ideas, though! What other projects or writing have you worked on in the past? I have worked and i still working as a articles writer in my website.I also have written some guides for software on Linux. What level and type of computer skills do you have? I am using Linux (Two Distros Ubuntu & Fedora).I also have studied HTML in the past and now i am studing Python.I have programmed SQL lessons for the near future(as soon as i finish Python). What other skills do you have that might be applicable? I am still a student so i don't have any very special skills, i have mentioned my skills in the previous paragraph. What makes you an excellent match for the project? I really like writing.And i have written guides how-to's and some others in the past.( Some are in my native language and some others are in English!) Does readme-live-image get included in some Fedora package?

The live base kickstart file used to build live cd images tries to copy in /usr/share/doc/HTML/readme-live-image/en_US/readme-live-image-en_US.txt which presumably used to be installed on Fedora systems as part of some package that was normally installed. Currently a warning is generated and the documentation doesn't get added to the live image. (This is bug 546909.) I am trying to figure out what the correct fix is. If readme-live-image doesn't end up in any packages now (it definitely seems to be getting updated as part of the Fedora Docs effort), then I'll just get rid of the code that tries to include it. If it is packaged, I'm hoping to hear of the package so I can get it added as a dependency to livecd-tools and refer to the current location that it would be stored in. I was hoping someone from the docs team might be able to help me out with this. Thanks.

Announcing Endoculator -- A GUI for the publican toolchain.

F14 guide goals
