Hi

I think i have my email (ssh/pgp) ok now. My account seems also to be
working. What's the next step ? I want to translate Installation Guide
and Mirror Guide.

You can find the instructions at:

In short, these are the steps:

1. Download the packages from the repository:

export	CVSROOT=:ext:[e-mail]:/cvs/docs
cvs co docs

2. Change the OTHERS macro in the Makefile to include es:

OTHERS = it pt_BR es

3. Make a new PO file for es:

make po/es.po

4. Translate es.po using kbabek or gtranslator.

5. Once your translation is done commit the po file:

cvs commit -m 'Any message' po/es.po

6. When the translation is ready commit the Makefile:

cvs ci -m 'Locale "es" translation finished' Makefile

That's it.

That would be kbabel, just to avoid confusion.

Why can't (for instance) I approve these folks, as an FDSCo member?  Who
controls who gets approval authority?  Would one of them be willing to
grow the approval group so we can more efficiently get enthusiastic new
folks in to the working group?

OK, I upgraded you to administrator.  First time I used that tool,
forgot it was there.  Is that the level needed to approve, or does
sponsor work?

Who else would we add to the approver group?

What role do we give them?  My instinct is not to make everyone
Administrator, but I'm unclear if that is the only way.

I'll ask Elliot for clarity, we can decide at the FDSCo meeting later
today who all should have what perms.

You can safely ignore this warning, although anyone who wants to chime
in and/or quiet this warning down would be rewarded. (With additional
work, no less.)

We probably need an "es" translation for the entities.  Go to
docs-common/common/entities, and read the README.txt there for
instructions on how to add a new locale.  Once you perform those steps,
the entities will be there for everyone to use, so thank you in

Hmm, I see the DTD that appears in each file needs to have the top-level
element correctly stated for that file.  Only the
'fedora-install-guide.xml' should have a "book" element in the DTD
declaration, while the 'fedora-install-guide-intro.xml' should use
"preface," the various chapter files "chapter," and so on.  I don't know
if that's responsible for your problem.

Can you commit *only* your po/es.po file so I can try to duplicate the
problem?

Ok, i've done the docs-common/common/entities stuff for es (followed the
README there). I'm not completely sure about the correctness of the
result so i would like to someone to take a look before comitting it.

How should i proceed?

Commit your -es files there and we'll take a look at the commits to see
that they're OK.  Test #1 is, does the document now build properly?  :-)
