Cool, sounds like a good start. I put in a DNS change request to redirect the domains to 67.213.213.84 and also the obligatory www.fedoraforever.comto fedoraforever.com. I could also see some benefit in keeping the repo / packages in their own subdomain.
I'll update the list when I get confirmation the changes were made.

The following is my server information, which, as of right now, will be used for initial website hosting as well as initial EOL'ed repo hosting.
IP address: 67.213.213.84 (canonical name: aalimraan.hidayahonline.net)
An Apache HTTP server is bound to this IP address, but I also have running Lighttpd (a.k.a., "Lighty") on another IP address. While I think Apache HTTP server will be fine for starters, if the number of simultaneous connections reaches high levels, I may suggest moving the repo subdomain (that is, if we use a subdomain for the actual package download site [which I recommend]) to the Lighty server, which is much more suitable for large numbers of simultaneous connections.
I think, at this stage, my server will be more than capable of handling the load we'll be expecting, since updates will surely be light at the start. As we recommend new installations to use the current release of Fedora, most usage will be for systems that were missing one of the last updates. As an FYI, the specs of my server are as follows:
Intel Xeon 3220 Quad core 4GB of RAM 2 x 250GB HD (one, right now, is dedicated to Fedora EOL) 1Gbps uplink 10TB of monthly bandwidth
The question remains, now, what do we want on the website? Scott & I discussed a bit on #fedora-eol, so if nothing's changed, what I will put is a static landing page, along with /blog & /wiki, which will be instances of WordPress & MediaWiki, respectively. Surely other components will be needed with time, but these seemed to be rather obvious choices, the first being, obviously, a blog for updates, while the second will be something akin to a knowledge base/documentation site for us.
I preferred to have everything (aside from repo downloads) being all within the same subdomain because it will be faster in response time - one of the slowest things for the Internet, especially outside of the US, is DNS lookups. Every additional one we can avoid will make the site's performance (appear to) be faster.
Okay, that's it for now. :) _______________________________________________ fedora-eol-updates mailing list fedora-eol-updates@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/fedora-eol-updates
