Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago I announced my intention to retire findbugs-bcel
in EPEL 7:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/epel-devel@lists.fedoraprojec…
This was approved by the EPEL Steering Committee on Wednesday:
https://pagure.io/epel/issue/210
I'm therefore announcing that I will be retiring the package.
I doubt anyone is using this package in EPEL 7 (FindBugs itself was
never packaged for EPEL 7) - but in any case, it is still available
from Maven Central.
Regards,
Richard

golang-1.18.4 is now available in epel-testing for EPEL7, an update of a
minor version from 1.17.12. I expect it to be promoted in about a week
unless karma changes that.

My policy for updating golang is to follow the updates in RHEL8.
RHEL8.7 updated to golang-1.18.4 a few weeks ago. Golang typically gets
a minor version update twice a year and they only support 2 minor
versions for security updates (and almost every patch release has CVEs),
so minor versions are obsoleted more quickly than most open source tools.
