syncthing v2 updates for EPEL 10.3 and 10.2

Hi all, I have submitted updates for syncthing v2 (2.1.1, the same version shipped in Fedora) to "testing": - EPEL 10.3: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2026-ddefa409e2 - EPEL 10.2: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2026-2c3b9215e1 This follows approval of the "incompatible upgrades" request by the EPEL steering committee here: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/epel/steering/issues/368 No user actions should be necessary after the update, other than the usual (i.e. reboot, logout, or manual service restart to fully apply the update). syncthing performs database migrations automatically on startup, and the only additional change here is that the database is also automatically migrated from LevelDB to SQLite. Retirement of syncthing from EPEL 9 and 8

Hi all, I have proceeded with the retirement of syncthing from EPEL 9 and 8 due to unfixable security issues, as previously announced here and there: - https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/epel-devel@lists.fedoraprojec… - https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/epel-devel@lists.fedoraprojec… It is unclear to me whether recent versions syncthing can even run on RHEL 9 / RHEL 8 based systems, because it uses sqlite features that are not supported by the old sqlite shipped on RHEL < 10. For now my only recommendation for users who want to keep using syncthing on RHEL would be to upgrade to RHEL 10. Fabio

(Slightly) incompatible update: p7zip -> 7zip for EPEL 9

Dear all, per the RFC in epel-devel: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/epel-devel@lists.fedoraprojec… and discussion in the EPEL issue: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/epel/steering/issues/367 and in the EPEL meeting last week: https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/meeting-1_matrix_fedoraproject-org/2026-0… p7zip is being replaced by 7zip in EPEL 9. p7zip was a fork that has not been maintained since 2016, and the codebase has had many CVEs over the years that it's untenable to maintain p7zip going forward. It is a drop-in replacement if you only use the CLI; however, p7zip did carry a GUI and that is no longer going to be available. An impact check in COPR shows that all the dependent packages build just fine with no change. The 7zip for EPEL 9 update should reach testing in tonight's compose: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2026-f9c4dcd003 per the incompatible update policy it will not automatically be pushed to stable, either by karma or by time, and will remain open for testing and feedback for at least one week.
