Hi, I am participating in https://github.com/codito/gnome-pomodoro/issues/456
it was mentioned by @mbooth101 to ask for advice here.
Is it possible to build gnome-pomodoro on Centos 8.2?
I believe this is the fedora package gnome-shell-extension-pomodoro
I did a quick test build of it, and it didn't build.
It was missing gom-devel and telepathy-glib-devel
I have no idea why it want's telepathy-glib-devel, but telepathy-glib
looks like it should build in EPEL8.
gom-devel will be harder. gom is in RHEL8, but gom-devel is one of
those "missing devel" packages. You'd need to get it into CentOS 8
But maybe gom-devel is optional, I don't know.
I am a total newb at building packages, and this is my first attempt.
The best possible result would be if someone was willing to build this and upload it to
To get packages into RHEL8, the best way is to open a bug requesting
it. If it already isn't in an earlier EPEL version (which
gnome-shell-extension-pomodoro isn't) then you need to open it in
Fedora / Fedora instead of Fedora / EPEL
When you open the bug, you need to remember that just because someone
maintains a package, doesn't mean they want to maintain it in EPEL
