I did a little more troubleshooting and found that if I roll back to
remmina-1.4.11-1.el7.x86_64 it works again.
Since this looks like something related to the upgrade, I opened
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1959672
At least I have a workaround. :-)
