Hello,
As previously agreed on epel-devel and by the EPEL Steering Committee, I have pushed the Mono 4.2 packages and packages depending on it to epel-testing on EL7.
These updates will sit in epel-testing for a significant period of time to allow adequate notice and time for testing. I hope to push them to stable at around the time when CentOS 7.3 is released.
The old Mono 2.10 packages have been totally outdated, and I wonder if they still have been used at all. If you still have your own software running with Mono 2.x, and have problems rebuilding towards Mono 4, let me know. We have been through that for quite a number of packages for Fedora 23, and most issues can be solved...
Please do test thoroughly, give positive/negative karma, and open bug reports.
Thank you, Timotheus
I hope to push them to stable at around the time when CentOS 7.3 is released.
I just wonder, what is the right time to push the mono packages to stable:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL_Updates_Policy says: In cases of major disruption, EPEL updates will looked to be done along with Red Hat Enterprise Linux minor releases (6.1, 6.2, 6.3) so as to allow for longer testing or differing beta testing.
As RHEL 7.3 has already been releasesd, should I already push the mono packages to stable, or wait as I originally announced for the CentOS 7.3 release?
Thanks, Timotheus

Is it dependent on anything in the 7.3 release (bugfix or feature) to be usable? Or is it just an arbitrary date that was chosen? If the former I'd wait, if it's independent I'd push it.

Just an arbitrary date. It works fine in epel-testing already for about a month. If I don't hear anything else, I will push tomorrow.

Just to let everyone know, that we have Mono 4.2 in Epel7 now! https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-03fb3c1531
CentOS 7.3 is not released yet, but RHEL 7.3 is released already for a couple of weeks.
All the best, Timotheus
