question / thought as to a possable extensionto the outline --
can a 'final' revised EPEL yum repodata update be issued
pointing to the new location (and the move and later remove
staged in two pieces), so existing users can get repoclosure?
Well the archive will be live in /pub/archive/epel/5. Repoclosure and
similar tools should work there just like the people getting EPEL-4
are doing (all 20 of them) or Fedora 8 (all several thousand of them).
They should be able to get packages and such but no updates will
happen in those trees.
understanding that people SHOULD move on, some cannot -- I hit
a strange perl issue earlier just today with C7 on code that
works fine under C5, in my 'backoffice' behind the firewall
