Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2009-0582
2009-10-08 17:37:48
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : postgresql-pgpool-II
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 2.2.5
Release : 1.el5
URL : http://pgpool.projects.PostgreSQL.org
Summary : Pgpool is a connection pooling/replication server for PostgreSQL
Description :
pgpool-II is a inherited project of pgpool (to classify from
pgpool-II, it is sometimes called as pgpool-I). For those of
you not familiar with pgpool-I, it is a multi-functional
middle ware for PostgreSQL that features connection pooling,
replication and load balancing functions. pgpool-I allows a
user to connect at most two PostgreSQL servers for higher
availability or for higher search performance compared to a
single PostgreSQL server.
pgpool-II, on the other hand, allows multiple PostgreSQL
servers (DB nodes) to be connected, which enables queries
to be executed simultaneously on all servers. In other words,
it enables "parallel query" processing. Also, pgpool-II can
be started as pgpool-I by changing configuration parameters.
pgpool-II that is executed in pgpool-I mode enables multiple
DB nodes to be connected, which was not possible in pgpool-I.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This version fixes various bugs in 2.2.4 or before. - Fix
connection_count_down(). It decrements the connection counter too much in some
corner cases and causes online recover never completes(Tatsuo) - Detect
frontend exiting while waiting for commands complete in other cases such as
internal locks are issued and Parse (Tatsuo) - Fix inifinit loop in
reset_backend(Xavier Noguer, Tatsuo) - Fix Parse() to print actual query when
it detects kind mismatch error(Tatsuo) See NEWS and ChangeLog for more
details.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update postgresql-pgpool-II' at the command line.

available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2009-0609
2009-10-08 23:02:55
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : R-qtl
Product : Fedora EPEL 4
Version : 1.14.2
Release : 1.el4
URL : http://www.rqtl.org/
Summary : Tools for analyzing QTL experiments
Description :
R-qtl is an extensible, interactive environment for mapping
quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in experimental crosses. Our goal is to
make complex QTL mapping methods widely accessible and allow users to
focus on modeling rather than computing.
A key component of computational methods for QTL mapping is the hidden
Markov model (HMM) technology for dealing with missing genotype
data. We have implemented the main HMM algorithms, with allowance for
the presence of genotyping errors, for backcrosses, intercrosses, and
phase-known four-way crosses.
The current version of R-qtl includes facilities for estimating
genetic maps, identifying genotyping errors, and performing single-QTL
genome scans and two-QTL, two-dimensional genome scans, by interval
mapping (with the EM algorithm), Haley-Knott regression, and multiple
imputation. All of this may be done in the presence of covariates
(such as sex, age or treatment). One may also fit higher-order QTL
models by multiple imputation and Haley-Knott regression.

Update Information:
New release from http://www.rqtl.org/ See http://www.rqtl.org/STATUS.txt for
what was changed.
