Fedora EPEL 5 Update: python-dns-1.9.2-2.el5
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2010-3740
2010-12-03 16:48:45
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : python-dns
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 1.9.2
Release : 2.el5
URL : http://www.dnspython.org/
Summary : DNS toolkit for Python
Description :
dnspython is a DNS toolkit for Python. It supports almost all record
types. It can be used for queries, zone transfers, and dynamic
updates. It supports TSIG authenticated messages and EDNS0.
dnspython provides both high and low level access to DNS. The high
level classes perform queries for data of a given name, type, and
class, and return an answer set. The low level classes allow direct
manipulation of DNS zones, messages, names, and records.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Update to 1.9.2 and add Python 2.6 subpackage
New since 1.8.0:
dnspython now uses poll() instead of select() when available.
Basic DNSSEC validation can be done using dns.dnsec.validate()
and dns.dnssec.validate_rrsig() if you have PyCrypto 2.3 or
later installed. Complete secure resolution is not yet
available.
Added key_id() to the DNSSEC module, which computes the DNSSEC
key id of a DNSKEY rdata.
Added make_ds() to the DNSSEC module, which returns the DS RR
for a given DNSKEY rdata.
dnspython now raises an exception if HMAC-SHA284 or
HMAC-SHA512 are used with a Python older than 2.5.2. (Older
Pythons do not compute the correct value.)
Symbolic constants are now available for TSIG algorithm names.
Bugs fixed since 1.8.0
dns.resolver.zone_for_name() didn't handle a query response
with a CNAME or DNAME correctly in some cases.
When specifying rdata types and classes as text, Unicode
strings may now be used.
Hashlib compatibility issues have been fixed.
dns.message now imports dns.edns.
The TSIG algorithm value was passed incorrectly to use_tsig()
in some cases.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update python-dns' at the command line.

available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2010-3712

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : perl-Apache-DBI
Product : Fedora EPEL 4
Version : 1.09
Release : 1.el4
URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Apache-DBI/
Summary : Persistent database connections with Apache/mod_perl
Description :
This is version 1.09 of Apache::AuthDBI and Apache::DBI.
These modules are supposed to be used with the Apache server together with
an embedded perl interpreter like mod_perl. They provide support for basic
authentication and authorization as well as support for persistent database
connections via Perl's Database Independent Interface (DBI).
o DBI.pm provides persistent database connections:
- connections can be established during server-startup
- configurable rollback to ensure data integrity
- configurable verification of the connections to avoid time-outs.
o AuthDBI.pm provides authentication and authorization:
- optional shared cache for passwords to minimize database load
- configurable cleanup-handler deletes outdated entries from the cache
Apache::DBI has been in widespread deployment on many platforms for
years. Apache::DBI is one of the most widely used mod_perl related
modules. It can be considered stable.

Update Information:
Upstream Changelog:
* Fix pod errors. Submitted by: Damyan Ivanov <dmn(a)debian.org>
* Adds PerlChildExitHandler to disconnect existing connections. Submitted by: Nick Wellnhoffer <wellnhofer(a)aevum.de>

Fedora EPEL 5 Update: tsocks-1.8-0.5.beta5.el5
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2010-3737
2010-12-02 16:00:22
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : tsocks
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 1.8
Release : 0.5.beta5.el5
URL : http://tsocks.sourceforge.net/
Summary : Library for catching network connections, redirecting them on a SOCKS server
Description :
tsocks is designed for use in machines which are firewalled from the
Internet. It avoids the need to recompile applications like lynx or
telnet so they can use SOCKS to reach the Internet. It behaves much
like the SOCKSified TCP/IP stacks seen on other platforms.
tsocks is a library to allow transparent SOCKS proxying. It wraps the
normal connect() function. When a connection is attempted, it consults
the configuration file (which is defined at configure time but defaults
to /etc/tsocks.conf) and determines if the IP address specified is local.
If it is not, the library redirects the connection to a SOCKS server
specified in the configuration file. It then negotiates that connection
with the SOCKS server and passes the connection back to the calling
program.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update tsocks' at the command line.

Fedora EPEL 5 Update: xl2tpd-1.2.7-1.el5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2010-3732

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : xl2tpd
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 1.2.7
Release : 1.el5
URL : http://www.xelerance.com/software/xl2tpd/
Summary : Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol Daemon (RFC 2661)
Description :
xl2tpd is an implementation of the Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (RFC 2661).
L2TP allows you to tunnel PPP over UDP. Some ISPs use L2TP to tunnel user
sessions from dial-in servers (modem banks, ADSL DSLAMs) to back-end PPP
servers. Another important application is Virtual Private Networks where
the IPsec protocol is used to secure the L2TP connection (L2TP/IPsec,
RFC 3193). The L2TP/IPsec protocol is mainly used by Windows and
Mac OS X clients. On Linux, xl2tpd can be used in combination with IPsec
implementations such as Openswan.
Example configuration files for such a setup are included in this RPM.
xl2tpd works by opening a pseudo-tty for communicating with pppd.
It runs completely in userspace.
