Name : fedfs-utils
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 0.9.4
Release : 2.el6
URL : http://wiki.linux-nfs.org/wiki/index.php/FedFsUtilsProject
Summary : Utilities for mounting and managing FedFS
Description :
RFC 5716 introduces the Federated File System (FedFS, for short). FedFS
is an extensible standardized mechanism by which system administrators
construct a coherent file name space across multiple file servers using
file system referrals.
A file system referral is like a symbolic link to another file system
share, but it is not visible to applications. It behaves like an
auto-mounted directory where a new file system mount is done when an
application first accesses that directory. The arguments of the mount
operation are controlled by information returned by the file server.
Today, file system referral mechanisms exist in several network file
system protocols. FedFS provides its file name space features by
leveraging referral mechanisms already built in to network file system
protocols. Thus no change to file system protocols or clients is
required.
Currently, the Linux FedFS implementation supports only NFS version 4
referrals. More on NFS version 4 referrals can be found in RFC 3530.
FedFS may support other network file system protocols in the future.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : mon
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 1.2.0
Release : 9.el6
URL : http://www.kernel.org/software/mon/
Summary : General-purpose resource monitoring system
Description :
Mon is a general-purpose resource monitoring system. It can be used
to monitor network service availability, server problems,
environmental conditions (i.e., the temperature in a room) or other
things. Mon can be used to test the condition and/or to trigger an
action upon failure of the condition. Mon keeps the testing and
action-taking tasks as separate, stand-alone programs.
Mon is very extensible. Monitors and alerts are not a part of mon, but
the distribution comes with a handful of them to get you started. This
means that if a new service needs monitoring, or if a new alert is
required, the mon server will not need to be changed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Fix logging to syslog. Same patch as was used to fix this in debian's mon in 2011.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2013-11924
2013-10-22 18:00:26
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : netcdf
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 3.6.3
Release : 1.el5
URL : http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/netcdf/index.html
Summary : Libraries for the Unidata network Common Data Form (NetCDF v3)
Description :
NetCDF-3 (network Common Data Form ver3) is an interface for
array-oriented data access and a freely-distributed collection of
software libraries for C, Fortran, C++, and perl that provides an
implementation of the interface. The NetCDF library also defines a
machine-independent format for representing scientific data. Together,
the interface, library, and format support the creation, access, and
sharing of scientific data. The NetCDF software was developed at the
Unidata Program Center in Boulder, Colorado.
NetCDF data is:
o Self-Describing: A NetCDF file includes information about the
data it contains.
o Network-transparent: A NetCDF file is represented in a form that
can be accessed by computers with different ways of storing
integers, characters, and floating-point numbers.
o Direct-access: A small subset of a large dataset may be accessed
efficiently, without first reading through all the preceding
data.
o Appendable: Data can be appended to a NetCDF dataset along one
dimension without copying the dataset or redefining its
structure. The structure of a NetCDF dataset can be changed,
though this sometimes causes the dataset to be copied.
o Sharable: One writer and multiple readers may simultaneously
access the same NetCDF file.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
- Update to 3.6.3
- Add upstream patch to fix nofill mode data corruption bug
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update netcdf' at the command line.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2013-11888
2013-10-18 17:21:29
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : gdisk
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 0.8.8
Release : 1.el6
URL : http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/
Summary : An fdisk-like partitioning tool for GPT disks
Description :
An fdisk-like partitioning tool for GPT disks. GPT fdisk features a
command-line interface, fairly direct manipulation of partition table
structures, recovery tools to help you deal with corrupt partition
tables, and the ability to convert MBR disks to GPT format.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Update to 0.8.8:
- Fixed bug that could cause segfault when passing an invalid partition number to sgdisk's -i/--info command.
- Added new type code: 933AC7E1-2EB4-4F13-B844-0E14E2AEF915, or gdisk code 8302, for Linux /home partitions. This type code is used by recent versions of systemd to permit /home to be auto-mounted; see http://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd-gpt-auto-generator.… for details.
- Added new type code: 9E1A2D38-C612-4316-AA26-8B49521E5A8B, or gdisk code 4100, for PowerPC PReP (PowerPC reference platform) boot.
- The number of partition type codes has grown large enough that it fills an 80x24 display. I've therefore added a pause (with a prompt to hit <Enter>) to display more items after showing 21 lines in gdisk or after the screen has nearly filled with entries in cgdisk. There's no such pause/prompt in sgdisk, though.
- Fine-tuned verification ('v') check for 0xEE partition that doesn't begin on sector 1: Previously, a disk with multiple 0xEE partitions would always trigger this warning. Now, the warning occurs only if NONE of the 0xEE partitions begins on sector 1.
- Fixed hybrid MBR creation on disks larger than 2TiB: Previously, if one opted to create an extra partition to cover unused space following hybridized partitions, gdisk would hang.
- Added check for an active/bootable 0xEE protective partition to the verify ('v') function. If found, this is not counted as an error, but it is called out to the user, since it can cause some EFIs (such as VirtualBox's EFI) to ignore the disk.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update gdisk' at the command line.

available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.
