--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : python-typing-extensions
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 3.7.4.3
Release : 2.el8
URL : https://pypi.org/project/typing-extensions/
Summary : Python Typing Extensions
Description :
Typing Extensions - Backported and Experimental Type Hints for Python
The typing module was added to the standard library in Python 3.5 on a
provisional basis and will no longer be provisional in Python 3.7.
However, this means users of Python 3.5 - 3.6 who are unable to upgrade will not
be able to take advantage of new types added to the typing module, such as
typing.Text or typing.Coroutine.
The typing_extensions module contains both backports of these changes as well as
experimental types that will eventually be added to the typing module, such as
Protocol.
Users of other Python versions should continue to install and use the typing
module from PyPi instead of using this one unless specifically writing code that
must be compatible with multiple Python versions or requires experimental types.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2022-236ca172d3
2022-05-08 04:07:53.170744
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : pyshp
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 2.3.0
Release : 1.el8
URL : https://github.com/GeospatialPython/pyshp
Summary : Pure Python read/write support for ESRI Shapefile format
Description :
The Python Shapefile Library (PyShp) provides read and write support for the
Esri Shapefile format. The Shapefile format is a popular Geographic Information
System vector data format created by Esri. For more information about this
format please read the well-written ESRI Shapefile Technical Description
July 1998 located at
http://www.esri.com/library/whitepapers/pdfs/shapefile.pdf. The Esri document
describes the shp and shx file formats. However a third file format called dbf
is also required. This format is documented on the web as the XBase File
Format Description and is a simple file-based database format created in the
1960s. For more on this specification see:
http://www.clicketyclick.dk/databases/xbase/format/index.html
Both the Esri and XBase file-formats are very simple in design and memory
efficient which is part of the reason the shapefile format remains popular
despite the numerous ways to store and exchange GIS data available today.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
## 2.3.0 ### New Features: - Added support for pathlib and path-like shapefile
filepaths. - Allow reading individual file extensions via filepaths. ###
Improvements: - Simplified setup and deployment - Faster shape access when
missing shx file - Switch to named logger (see
[#240](https://github.com/GeospatialPython/pyshp/issues/240)) ### Bug fixes: -
More robust handling of corrupt shapefiles (fixes
[#235](https://github.com/GeospatialPython/pyshp/issues/235)) - Fix errors when
writing to individual file-handles (fixes
[#237](https://github.com/GeospatialPython/pyshp/issues/237)) - Revert previous
decision to enforce geojson output ring orientation (detailed explanation at
https://github.com/SciTools/cartopy/issues/2012) - Fix test issues in
environments without network access

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : keepassxc
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 2.7.1
Release : 3.el8
URL : http://www.keepassxc.org/
Summary : Cross-platform password manager
Description :
KeePassXC is a community fork of KeePassX
KeePassXC is an application for people with extremely high demands on secure
personal data management.
KeePassXC saves many different information e.g. user names, passwords, urls,
attachemts and comments in one single database. For a better management
user-defined titles and icons can be specified for each single entry.
Furthermore the entries are sorted in groups, which are customizable as well.
The integrated search function allows to search in a single group or the
complete database.
KeePassXC offers a little utility for secure password generation. The password
generator is very customizable, fast and easy to use. Especially someone who
generates passwords frequently will appreciate this feature.
The complete database is always encrypted either with AES (alias Rijndael) or
Twofish encryption algorithm using a 256 bit key. Therefore the saved
information can be considered as quite safe.

Fedora EPEL Update Notification

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : perl-Fsdb
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 3.0
Release : 1.el8
URL : http://www.isi.edu/~johnh/SOFTWARE/FSDB/
Summary : A set of commands for manipulating flat-text databases from the shell
Description :
FSDB is a package of commands for manipulating flat-ASCII databases from
shell scripts. FSDB is useful to process medium amounts of data (with
very little data you'd do it by hand, with megabytes you might want a
real database). FSDB is very good at doing things like:
- extracting measurements from experimental output
- re-examining data to address different hypotheses
- joining data from different experiments
- eliminating/detecting outliers
- computing statistics on data (mean, confidence intervals,
correlations, histograms)
- reformatting data for graphing programs
Rather than hand-code scripts to do each special case, FSDB provides
higher-level functions than one gets with raw perl or shell scripts.
(Some features: control uses names instead of column numbers,
it is self-documenting, and is robust with good error and memory handling.)
