by Ankur Sinha 05 Jan '21

Hi folks, I hope everyone had a restful and safe holiday break. :) For anyone that speaks more than one language, this is an excellent opportunity to help make Free/Open Source Software more accessible to non-English speaking users. Please read Jean-Baptiste's email below: ----- Forwarded message from Jean-Baptiste <jean-baptiste(a)holcroft.fr> ----- > Date: Sun, 3 Jan 2021 09:16:42 +0100 > From: Jean-Baptiste <snip> > To: Fedora Translation Project List <trans(a)lists.fedoraproject.org> > Subject: Fedora docs internationalization is now fixed > Archived-At: <https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/docs@lists.fedoraproject.org/…> > > Dear translators, > > first of all, for those following the Gregorian calendar, I wish an happy > new year, with hope that you'll all continue to be proud of all you do for > free software and your language! > All the work each of you is quietly doing all over the internet to translate > software is reaching end users and enabling them to use free software. Help wanted: Python and static html
by Alessio 02 Jan '21

Hello. I have a little idea. You can find some thoughts here: https://pagure.io/fedora-commops/issue/224 I don't know how far it can go. Maybe it could sunset tomorrow. However I would like to create something that works from the technincal point of view. At least as an initial step. Nothing complex or refined. If the idea could be of interest to the community, the technical aspect can be enanched in the future. But I need some help in Python and in HTML/CSS Here you can find a Python script. https://pagure.io/fedorapressreview/tree/master The script must take a json file from pagure https://pagure.io/fedorapressreview/blob/master/f/list.json and generate simple static web page and an RSS feed. The idea is that the script will be executed peiodically by a cron job or by some hook (it doesn't matter right now). If someone here is interested, we can coordinate here: https://pagure.io/fedorapressreview/issue/1 Ciao, A.

Self introduction: Jan Kuparinen

Hello Fedorians! My name is Jan Kuparinen and I have quite a few years of experience on server maintenance and have been full stack programming for couple of years as well. As of late I have mainly used Python on a Flask development project. Since I speak several languages, I have updated some Finnish translations of Fedora websites. I have made few pull requests on websites (reviews and corrections) and hope to be able to contribute some more on various areas. During my career I have done a whole lot of work on several different areas and like problem solving and automating tasks. Jan FAS: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Copperi

Self Introduction: Canberk Duman
by Canberk Duman 01 Jan '21

Hello everyone, I'm Canberk Duman -22 years old- from Istanbul, Turkey. I am writing my graduation thesis about Linux systems and monitoring in my last year in computer science undergraduate degree, at the same time, I am working on Linux System Management business in a private company in Istanbul. I want to join and contribute to the Fedora project family. My areas of interest are software development and programming rather than systems management. I have developed small-scale projects in Java, C and Python languages. It will be very exciting for me to contribute to these areas in the Fedora project. Best regards,
