Hi everyone, It feels wonderful to join you guys, it truly is a special moment. The bit about myself: In the past year I tried to understand how it really works, that is, a general purpose computer and an operating system. What I found is that "I know nothing", yet, I'm loving the journey. In this community, I know I'll get a solid grasp on design principles and find a way to get my hands dirty. For this, I thank you. My roots grow from system administration and just now are reaching out to THE programmer perspective. I'm looking at C and Python, when I say this should be the year in which I finally build up courage to understand and put them to practice. My hope is that in a couple of years I can give back to the community something truly valuable. What that is, is yet to be discovered. The alias is raise, the name is Octavian. Hi, I have been using Linux for a long time as a user and server administrator. In the server world I manage systems for a voip provider, and as an end user I have experience with multiple distributions such as Debian, Slackware and Gentoo. I have been recently pointed towards Fedora as an accessible desktop system for blind users and have installed the Mate spin. Currently I am duel booting between Windows and Linux until I can get comfortable with using Linux tools for all aspects of interacting with the Fedora project and others. I look forward to working with you all in the Fedora project. Can someone reach out back to me to help me figure out what areas would be best for me to start working with based on some of my goals and experience. Thanks, Tom

Introduction

Hello, I'm interested in contributing to Fedora and would like to introduce myself. My name is Youssef. My Fedora account username is humanamerican and my Matrix username is @eusseph:matrix.org. I started using Linux in college and by now am a Fedora daily driver. I have experience in Linux sys admin, technical documentation writing, and software development. Other interests include space, history, urbanism, buffalo wings, and craft beer. I also have plenty of experience volunteering for non-profits and currently serve on the board of an organization in my neighborhood. I love FOSS and always try to find FOSS solutions before using proprietary software. However, aside from helping people out in forums, I have yet to contribute to a FOSS project. Being that I use Fedora every day, I figured it would be a good place to start. I'm always down to learn something new so I think I could contribute pretty much anywhere that more hands are needed, with the exception of graphic design (unless you want lots of stick figures). I'd like to contribute about 5 hours a week to start and see where that takes me. Thanks for reading my intro. I welcome all suggestions for a good "first contribution" to get my feet wet.
