Hello everyone! I'm Marco, a CS student from Italy. I am using fedora since F29 and I've been active in the Telegram chat for a while. I would really love to contribute in the Fedora Project, and in particular by helping package maintainers do their job. For this reason, I'm reading through the fantastic RPM packaging guide and getting my hands dirty. My goal is to both help the Project and learn a lot of stuff while doing it. Also, this community is fantastic and this is a huge bonus for me.
My background is that of a linux-enthusiast CS student: I know how to program (but I'm more of a junior dev), I am familiar with cli tools and some scripting, I know the basic sysadmin stuff to avoid borking my system in no time.
Speaking of missing packages, I would really like to start with a font package I love but I cannot found in Fedora repos, iosevka; it looks like there is a COPR repository but I wish it were in the official repositories. I can say the same for starship prompt which has been dropped a while ago, as soon as I become experienced I might maintain it. Of course, It might be better for me to start simply helping an existing maintainer while I learn the matter.
