Ah. Hrm. You only need to be a member of a non cla group if you want
access to fedorapeople and other fedora community infrastructure. You
don't need it to contribute to any of the Fedora sub teams.  Have you
found a team that interests you yet? :)

Hello everybody,
I am a bachelor student of Computer Science and Media at the 
Bauhaus-University Weimar in Germany. I use Fedora since a few releases 
and found my distro with it. Since a few months  I like to be a part of 
this community and read a lot of times the SIGs and all the informations 
around it. I hope you can help me.

My favorit programming languages are C++ and python (with and without 
PyQt). By my studium I am also fit in the Basics  of Usability and HCI. 
I also think that Fedora and also any other linux distribution are not 
good enough connected to Android. I don't know, is there any Group who 
work on it? And the last think that I should tell you is that I am sad, 
that in my circle of friends and at the university nobody else, that I 
know uses Fedora.

I am Tanzeel Khan from Jammu and Kashmir india .I am an IT student,I'm good
in HTML,CSS,JS,jQuery,C,C++,VB and Drupal CMS.
I also localize projects to URDU language.
I host events, teach the web and trying to learn new things everyday.
I would love to contribute to fedora project.

is working on a new website for the Fedora 21 release where we're

I don't think we have an android SIG yet. We do have this wiki page that
details how to set up an android development environment, though:

developer. I live in central India. Although I wish to move to some more
tech oriented place in India if I had an opportunity.

Like many others I started using Ubuntu as a hobby many years ago. Due to
ASPM bug I had to switch to Arch Linux which if I had time I would have to
say would be the best Linux distribution in form of OS offerings and very
focused community. Earlier this year due to lack of time I wanted to switch
from something that is less time consuming yet latest and focused on
cutting-edge. I should also note that I started distro hopping when Gnome
and Ubuntu started discovering HIG and how we use computers. I finally
settled down with KDE. I have to say Fedora KDE is the best any
distribution could offer. I am personally a fan of KDE SIG. It is sad that
it doesn't have a place in the WorkStation grandeur.

I would like to contribute to Fedora is some small sense. I like writing so
I am open to contributing to wiki although docs sounds so official and
makes me afraid of making mistake. I could also learn of use COPR and
package some software that aren't and can't be main repositories.

Besides Linux, I like to write, ponder over technology, life and politics,
and spend time with family, you don't seem to have enough of that these
days.

Hi Sudhir,

I know what you mean about docs - there's a lot of process and tooling
that goes into creating the guides.  It's something the docs team has
been thinking about, so I created a guide called the Fedora Cookbook
specifically to have a place for people to put short tutorials and
such.  I think you would do well writing for this, and I'd be happy to
help you with writing and proofreading something that interests you. 
The first 'recipe' in the cookbook is instructions on how to write a
recipe:

.  Feel free to reach out on the docs-qa mailing list to talk about
*your* recipe, or visit #fedora-docs.

We're also working on the F21 release notes, and that always means a lot

bug report - and don't worry about writing it perfectly, it really makes
a big difference to have help with the research.

Heh. I know what you're saying. Most of us were slightly hesitant to
post to the mailing lists when we'd just started. The thing is, the
members of the community don't really think of each other as
"developers" or "system administrators". Sure, people have their
specific areas that they specialize in, but we prefer to look at each
other as simply "fedora community members". More importantly, a majority
of us started as "just a user and open source enthusiast" as you put
it ;)

If you'd like to get started, there are quite a few *simple* ways to
contribute - where the learning curve isn't too steep. For example,
helping test updates is easy: all you need to do is install packages and
see if they work - if they do, you give positive karma otherwise
negative. More details here:

up, the amount of testing is going to increase - test days, blocker
meetings and the rest. Sign up with the QA team if you're up for these:
