I'm Tshepo Tamajobe, a 23 year old geek from Botswana, Africa. I have joined the Fedora Ambassadors Project a while back, sent emails to mentors in my region and I still haven't got replied yet. What should I do? I want to get started as soon as possible. Tshepo,

I'm really sorry we didn't get back to you before. You hadn't subscribed to the list and your e-mail got buried in all the spam that we regularly get.
Could you tell us who you've contacted as potential mentors? I can ping them and follow up your request.
Also, if you're looking to be an ambassador, you'll benefit greatly from contributing to other Fedora teams - that's how you learn more about the community. Is there a team you'd like to get started with?
We look forward to hearing from you. I've subscribed you to the list now, and you should be able to post freely :)

Tshepo & Ricardo,
Can you gents share whom you have attempted to reach, so we can attempt to reach them and remind them of your interest?
Also have both of you started the remaining steps on the join Wiki? namely subscribed to all pertinent mailing lists not just this one and made Fas accounts etc etc?

They could be busy, or they could be inactive. I'll look around.
In the meantime, please don't limit yourself to the ambassadors team - they're one of *many* Fedora teams. I'd strongly suggest signing up for another team already - it helps you integrate with the community and helps you learn about the various processes/workflows that make you a better Fedora ambassador.
In fact, some mentors expect applicants to the ambassadors team to be part of other teams before approving their memberships.
If there's a team you'd like to get started with, do let us know and we'll help you out.
