Hello,
I've never liked the current join.fedoraproject.org[0] site - it redirects to an ugly wiki page which is pretty much a massive data dump. It is unreadable, unfriendly, and boring - all three virtues that would drive away potential contributors instead of attracting them.
So, in the spirit of free and open source software, I've hacked up a replacement[1]. I would love your feedback on this. The idea is to polish this up and use this as join.fedoraproject.org. At the moment, it is only a prototype - even the name is going to change ;)
There are a couple of issues open already, please comment on the relevant ones, or file new ones[2], or you can just reply to this e- mail with your comments :)
Newbies - this is your chance to tell us what you think!

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback, Amita, David, Marcel!
Can I ask everyoe to go over the site in some detail to see what we can improve more? Also, please ask your friends in the community or just in general to take a look - the more feedback we get, the better it'll be. If you know some newbies to show the site too, that'll be even better! :D
I think I'll post a feedback request on the community blog sometime too, but until then, whatever feedback we can collect would still be quite helpful :)
I suspect that this is obvious enough, maybe not, but it also probably doesn't warrent a ticket. The blye link on the purple is a bit hard to read. You might want to change either the purple back ground, or the blue like text color, other that that, in so far as I have gone it looks pretty good.
Thanks,
Dave Shier

Yea - I think we'll end up redoing the colours a bit - the palette is the Fedora palette, and the links are blue from bootstrap.
I'll go ask the design team to give it a once over.

Thanks,
Just a heads up that I've moved the source and the demo:
https://pagure.io/join-website/
https://ankursinha.fedorapeople.org/join-v2/
So, it isn't called Charlie any more. I'm going to see if it's possible to select a random Fedora contributor off badges[1] and use their name and avatar - that way, each time you access the site, you get a new Fedora contributor welcoming you - maybe from a different part of the world. How does that sound?

If you want to add things to this demo, please feel free to open a pull request - it's an easy way to get started :)
