Hello All,

This is Vengadanathan. You can call me Vengad.

I'm currently working as a software engineer from Bangalore, India. I have around 9yrs of experience building large scale distributed systems. Worked on search technologies (Lucene, Elastisearch), core infra platforms (B/G deployment orchestration, monitoring and alerting systems) and later on security aspects like hardening posture of cloud services (sandboxing, credential access restriction etc) and enabling of various AuthN/Z mechanisms. I'm well versed in Go, Java etc and have hands on experience in Infra and Cloud technologies.

Fedora is is my current OS of choice and I'm in love of it. This is the first FOSS community i am participating :). Wanted to contribute to open source world by contributing and learn new things at the same time.

I'm willing to spend 10-12 hrs per week for the same.  Looking forward to be part of the community.

Hi Vengad
My name is Phil and I am from California. I am somewhat new to Fedora OS
systems, but I have been a long time Linux user dating back 10 years. I
went to school to learn about programming and later on about networking and
OS systems especially Linux systems. I have always been interested in
figuring out how to program Linux systems so that individuals can upgrade
and keep their own Linux systems up to date. I am interested in possibly
creating new ideas in designing the GUI aspect of Fedora as well as
possibly creating a whole new Linux OS system.

Vengadanathan, welcome, again! I hope the information in the "welcome to
Fedora" ticket is proving useful.

Phil, would you like us to start the "welcome to Fedora" process for
you? It just gives you a very quick overview of when/how/where/why/what
the community does.

I'll note that Fedora is "downstream", so we take software that others
develop and package it all up nicely to create the OS. If you'd like to
work on UX design, you're probably best off communicating with the
design teams of whatever Desktop Environment (Gnome/KDE/..) that you're
interested in. The Fedora community does not develop nor design these.

That being said, there's a lot of design related activities in the
community---from the websites to artwork and swag and so on. Info on all
of this is included in the "welcome to Fedora" ticket we open for you.

So, if you'd like us to start the process for you, please login to

No---that is simply a button to browse all Pagure projects.

Not all Fedora projects are on Pagure, and not all projects on Pagure
are Fedora projects.

You're best off going through the links in the ticket we opened for
you to learn about the different teams and what they're currently up to,
and hopefully you'll find something interesting there that you'd like to
participate in.
