Hi all,
At the Fedora Council face-to-face last month, the Council decided we need to put more emphasis on recruiting contributors, particularly at major events. The new workflow that the Join SIG has developed is great, now we just need to get people into the funnel.
I'm putting together a team that will develop a plan to present to the Council at the end of January and I'd like to have someone from the Join SIG involved. This team is temporary, and it's role is focused on putting together a plan that Ambassadors and others can execute on. It's not intended to replace anything the Join SIG is doing, but to augment it.
Hi Ben,
Available here.

We can start putting together the process of the Join-Sig and all the valuable resources about joining the community, from my point of view we need to categorize the material for the kind of event, by example,
For technical events:
- Packaging (we need a lot of packagers) - Coding (Fedmsg migration, support to infra apps, etc)
Design schools and specialized conferences
- Design (We have a beautiful art base and can be presented as talk on many places)
Writers
- Fedora Magazine it's an amazing place to write :)
and so on and so for ...
This help to this kind "Event/Join SWAT team" to get prepared to the right public, also we can get people from JOIN on line to help to open the following ticket
Some kind of standardized 101/ninja/lighting courses can help
We do something similar here: https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/event-report-ccoss19/

Hello,
It's good to see so many volunteers. I think, as the original folks who helped devise the new Join SIG method, Alessio[1], Hector[2], and Alberto[3] would make good candidates to work on this with the Council.
They spent time analysing the needs of new comers, designed the new workflow, and are now most active in keeping it going. So, IMO, they are the experts :) Not surprisingly, they are also involved with Mindshare and are aware of the discussions regarding Ambassadors and other teams.
(They've already volunteered, so I won't need to volunteer them :P)
Additionally, folks here on the list, if you do have the free cycles, please engage with newcomers on the various channels and help them follow the new process that is in place. That would be most helpful.

Hello Ben. This is an interesting initiative. I think that also people from marketing and mindshare should be involved, you've thought that through? Anyway, if needed, I'm interested in contributing to that for what I can.
Ciao, A.
Sorry for the slow reply. I didn't realize this list would drop me from the reply (and I'm not a member). Anyway!

I did. I'm on the Marketing team (such that it is), so I'm representing that part, and Marie is on board to represent the Mindshare side.
Anyway, if needed, I'm interested in contributing to that for what I can.
Since Ankur volunteered you in addition to you volunteering yourself, I choose you :p
Thanks to everyone who stepped forward. I'm intentionally keeping this team small to start with so that we can focus. Of course, we'll be very interested in the input of the wider group.
