The main hotel is now full for some nights. However, the Best Western Efekt Express which is located in the same location and shares a parking lot with our conference hotels has rooms and is honoring the same rate. The form for this hotel is below.
The form can be downloaded from here: https://pagure.io/fork/bex/fedora-websites/blob/bex_hotel_update_flock/f/flo...
There is a pending PR to update flocktofedora.org at https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/pull-request/23
Thank you.

Does anyone know if the conference hotel provides any kind of booking number or other type of confirmation? I requested rooms weeks ago and was told that two were reserved for me, but I guess I'm used to computerized booking systems.

I remember seeing in the IRC channel, I think by bexelbie, that the hotel is *very* old-fashioned for booking. If I recall, his recommendation was to call or contact the hotel for a definite confirmation of the reservation to prevent problems on arrival.
Hope this helps.

The hotel will email a PDF confirmation back if you have provided an email address.

Merged the PR and thanks for the contribution!
Hi!
I've received a form, filled it and send it back. Should I consider my room reserved or should I check this other place?
Thank you very much. Sylvia S.

You should receive a confirmation, how long has it been?
Hey guys, it seems the hotels around are already almost full. Just wish to share I've found this hostel not very far from the conference (8 minutes by car, Uber is your friend), they're both located next to a main road in Kraków so it should be a smooth go. Search for NH Hostel on booking.com, it's 62% off, I guaranteed my reservation for just 60 PLN for the 3 nights. Hope you'll manage, and see you at the conference!

Anything is good if you don't find a better option but I'd like to discourage that area due to high criminality (gang warfare, although many people say that this stereotype is false, also Flock venue area is not much different) and the distance which is more than 8 km. This will be 8 minutes by car only if there are no traffic jams, which means at night. At day it will be 15-40 minutes. Seems like you have just sorted all hotels still available in Krakow by price and chosen the cheapest one. Well, it has available rooms and cheap price for a reason.
Here is a list of hotels near Flock venue, besides Best Western Premier and Best Western Efekt Express:
* Hotel Major http://www.majorhotel.pl * Hotel Conrad http://www.conradhotel.pl/en/ * Quality System Hotel http://www.quality-hotels.pl/krakow (good price and one room still available!) * Hotel Apart Styl MG http://hotel-krakow.com.pl/hotel-apart/ * Q Hotel http://www.qhotels.pl/krakow * Crown Piast Hotel http://hotelpiast.pl/ (probably expensive)
although I can't confirm any of them has the rooms available and acceptable prices.
Back to the list of the cheapest hotels/hostels in town by booking.com based on the location I'd recommend:
* Hotel Floryan Old Town, * Hostel Yellow, * Hostel Aleje 28, * T&T Hostel & Apartments, * Hostel Centrum Sabot, * Enigma Hostel, * PŚŻ Hostel, * Hostel Krakow KRK, * Pillows Party Hostel.
Shortly, anything closer than the Old Town should be OK.
Note that all these locations (including NH Hostel) offer you a bed in a shared room.

Rafal

Can you give a bit more information what's wrong with that area? Some link?
And 9km is not a problem, it's always possible to walk ;)

Polish only but can be passed through a translation service:
http://www.gazetakrakowska.pl/wiadomosci/krakow/a/krakow-wjazd-z-maczetami-n...
and a proof that the area we have been talking about is not an exception:
http://www.gazetakrakowska.pl/artykul/592533,porachunki-kiboli-na-olszy-z-ma...
And 9km is not a problem, it's always possible to walk ;)
Sure, I encourage this if time and body condition allow. :)

Rafal
Uh. If we, educated people, are using proof by example, I should mention that I lost a bike in Old City five years ago and also that gang leader called "Człowiek" got killed in front of my primary school. Every part of Kraków (and any other inhabited area) has some kind of "smell". Fortunately, we've no "no-go" zones here, no enclaves, etc.
If you're searching for a hotel, please consider ones with direct connection to Azory bus stop (few minutes walk from the venue), as on Opolska street you will experience enormous traffic jams in these hours.

Hey guys, just for clarification, I applied to flock and I don't know my status yet because I didn't receive any reply. Am I to receive a confirmation letter or is there another means by which I am to be contacted...

Unclear what "applied" means here? Did you register for the conference? If so, you're in.
Best,

Also needs to be clear what "in" means, perhaps. Just to be pedantic... Registration means you'll have a badge, etc. Anyone is allowed to attend regardless of registration, so if you didn't get into the registration list, you can still be there.
Paul McC, can you clarify whether that answers your question, or whether you're talking about something else like a hotel subsidy?
Thanks Paul W. Frields for the clarification.
