Speakers,
I've created a wiki page for those of us flying in, so that some of us can split rides.
While I realize that there is a train from the airport, I'm taking an overnight, and won't be keen to drag my luggage for 1.5 km from the train station (or, for that matter, figure out the stop names and ticket system).
If you might want to split a ride to the Best Western, please add your details!
Forwarding this to the attendees list as well.

I finally managed to find some transit information on the airport website: otherwise it is seems impressively difficult to get info on local transport (both web and mobile - at least for Android 6;)! Maybe I should do a PR for the website. ;o)

I believe this is the search for trains from the Airport to the nearest station to the venue: https://koleo.pl/en/search/krakow-lotnisko/krakow-lobzow
The airport seems to recommend people to use trains, but no doubt ymmv - I am just a virtual tourist... "Traffic disruptions on access roads to the airport may appear during the WYD, so we advise all passengers to use rail transport." <shrug/> http://www.krakowairport.pl/en/passenger,c70/travel,c72/world-youth-days,c30...
Apparently extra airport trains will running during the WYD period to compensate for increased traffic/visitors. http://www.krakowairport.pl/en/passenger,c70/travel,c72/world-youth-days,c30...
(The pope is arriving today (Wed this week) and leaving tomorrow (Thu) so that should not affect Flock.)

Hey guys, in case you're having trouble with public transport, you can use this website http://jakdojade.pl it's very complete and in English, and they have android and iphone apps as well, where you can point where you want to go and it will give you all the connecting busses and rails, departure times etc. Just keep in mind it allows just 5 or so free queries per month and then you have to pay 10 PLN for subscription (which is around 2 USD/EUR).

I've been using it for free for a year or so, and the only limitation in the free version is that you don't have GPS navigation (so you don't have to check which bus/tram stop is the nearest) and ads. Unless Kraków has some different rules than Wrocław and it really has only 5 queries/month (but I doubt it), I can highly recommend this app as a free one ;)

Just thought I'd put my 2¢ here. I've just arrived in Poland for the first time today, with my wife and four small children. We've rented a flat using Airbnb and were trying to decide whether to take the official airport taxi or public transportation. The Jakdojade.pl Android app finally pushed the decision in favor of public transport, especially since it offers a free 1-month trial of the premium service.
We put in the airport as our starting point, the address of our flat as the destination, and Jakdojade calculated how much we'd have to walk, what buses to take, and which tickets we should buy for the buses, even taking into account that the routes are different today given everything else happening in Krakow right now. Even with four small kids in tow, there was no stress involved, and we arrived at our flat within the time estimate.
As a first-time visitor to Krakow, I'd strongly recommend this app if you're planning to navigate public transportation in Krakow.

This is wonderful information, thank you very much! The thought of getting lost in new places stresses me out so this is immensely helpful.
Thanks again, -AdamM

That's true. OTOH, they don't mention that bus transit will be disrupted, except: * route of bus 292 will be changed within the city area 26-29 July; * 31 July from 14:00 to 19:00 (2pm-7pm) the bus 292 will not go to the airport; * the night bus 902 will cruise every 20 minutes at night 30/31 July; * bus 208 will not be changed; * the location of the bus stop near the airport has been changed until 3 Aug: http://www.krakowairport.pl/data/upload/image/aktualnosci/sdm/_DSC0251.JPG (although this matters only for those who have been in Krakow Airport before and may expect the bus stop to be at the same place where it was before).
Apparently extra airport trains will running during the WYD period to compensate for increased traffic/visitors.

That's true, the trains will cruise every 15 minutes (instead of 30 minutes) and also every 1 hour at night (normally they don't cruise at night).
(The pope is arriving today (Wed this week)
That's true.
and leaving tomorrow (Thu)
That's not true unless you mean leaving for few hours and coming back to Krakow the same day. Pope Francis leaves on Sunday afternoon...
so that should not affect Flock.)
... so definitely will affect Flock, especially those arriving on Sunday but also on Monday. 1.5 million pilgrims will not leave immediately so the town will be enormously crowded even the next day.
