For the first time, we have four bids for Flock 2015, which is pretty
On the wiki (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flock2015-bids), I have made a
/very brief/ table comparing the highlights of each. You should not use
this alone to evaluate the options, but just as a quick way to look at them
side by side. The actual bid pages (linked across the header row of the
table) have a lot of information in them, and you should read them before
There is space at the bottom of that page to add your comments about each
bid. Please use that space instead of the list, simply so that we can
easily see all comments in one place instead of sifting through threads.
There is also a survey open here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6FX2Q3T
Please give your input by Saturday, October 4.
If you have any questions about anything about the bids or Flock, don't
hesitate to ask. In the process of collecting bids, I've heard a lot of
weird rumors, none of which were true. Don't spread rumors. Just ask.

AFAIK I'm not on the organizing committee, but just as a fellow
community member I wanted to say thank you to all the bidders for
Flock 2015. I'm a little agog that we got four compelling bids for
the next conference and with so much excellent background and detail
provided for each. Wherever Flock ends up I have a feeling it's going
to be the best conference yet.

Myself/Prof. Jacobs have put together a proposal to bring Flock 2015 to
Rochester in Upstate NY. There are a few variables in cost/program
depending on which venue we choose, but we are confident that on or off
campus, Rochester would make for a great Flock experience :)
We'll be updating the proposal as we get more information.

Mike (roshi) and I have written up a proposal for Flock 2015 in Colorado
Springs, Colorado, USA. For the purposes of this estimate, we've kept
the dates relatively flexible at this time but assuming early August
where a specific time was needed (flight estimates).
We're still waiting to hear back from possible venues which will affect
the proposal as a whole. Once that is wrapped up early next week, the
proposal will be updated.
This is a reminder for those working on bids for Flock 2015 that they're
due Saturday. When you're ready to share, please send the link to your bid
page to this list.
