There is a lot of neat stuff to do in Charleston, although a lot of stuff
like the plantations & gardens & market & museums are more daytime
activities. There may be something going on in the evenings at the
Sottille or Dock Street theaters that weekend, and there are regular ghost
tours. (Charleston is supposedly a very haunted city.) So maybe leaving
an evening or two unscheduled isn't a bad idea.

I've been working on a few possibilities for evening events

with the help of some lovely locals. Of course, I'd rather spend as much
money as possible getting people to Flock, but I also want everyone to have
a great time and have some fun stuff happening outside of talks and
workshops. On the FUDCon model, we had one night (Saturday) where we had a
party that included dinner. The last few times had a lighter event on
Friday night as well in the hotel with pizza. (This option may not be as
cheap this time depending on the cost of the hotel space, which is an
extremely popular downtown hotel.)
With all that in mind, would you rather have smaller (i.e., less
expensive) planned evening events Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, or have
just one or two nights with a really great party?
