It doesnt appear on initial research that theres a whole lot we can do about by adding
additional payment platforms as it isnt paypal specific, its specific to India and affects
google wallet and a bunch of other online payment systems.
Currently if the reg isnt completed its still saved in the system so if someone runs into
an issue they can contact us and i am sure we can work smtg out. If it becomes an issue in
practice we can add a note to the effect on the payment page.

Just as a note for consideration, might be helpful to look into how
this
might work internationally. I know there are problems with PayPal in
India, for example, and a search seemed to show that even for credit
card transactions without an account, the person will have to have an
internationally-enabled credit or debit card.

I'm not claiming to be an expert on any of this, but it might help to
ping some regional folks and see if this will still be feasible for
them. I know a popular alternative in APAC for some groups is
TransferWise, but I don't know how feasible it is to add an integration
or option to use another payment gateway when we're this close to the
CFP window.
Just some material for thought, that some people who attend may not be
able to even use PayPal without an account, so it might be beneficial
to
plan for a "worst case" workaround if someone is unable to use PayPal
to
pay the registration cost.
