Well, can we find out if the podiums at the venue have a machine
already there (even if it's Windows or OSX?). We could then just leave
that running on said machine and switch the projecter input back to the
podium system between talks.
Yes, which would probably be best case. Still requires people to
remember to plug it back in though. If the intention is to show
something nice before the talk starts, then it will kind of fail
during that awkward time when the presenter is trying to get their
machine working with the projector. Once their machine is displaying
you see a title slide or a random desktop unless they're running the
video.
It's certainly doable, but I'm skeptical of how much it will actually
be shown in reality.
