You responded to my email in which I told you that we were asking Red Hat employees to
talk to their managers. You and everyone else have also received emails that we are likely
to fund everyone. I only keep saying "likely" in the event that something truly
disastrous happens. But the fact is that we have mroe than $50,000 in subsidy requests and
a $70,000 budget for the entire event.
And then what Pierre added. :-)
To everyone who sends me an email, which is at least once a day. It takes time to
determine budgets, get additional sponsors, and search for flights for this many people.
It doesn't all happen in a day or even a week. But we did it successfully last year. I
know how to make this happen. Please just be patient.
I should note here, there's no "magic community bullet" when it comes
to doing centralized travel arrangements and booking. Ruth & co. did
a phenomenal job last year, and she's aware of the time issues just
like everyone else.
Perhaps something people could do, aside from being patient, is to
periodically check details for preferred flights and have them ready
when Ruth comes calling.
