From VFB to UFO to TrueType?
by Paul Flo Williams
Several of the League of Movable Type faces are mentioned on the Fonts
Wishlist, with caveats that they should be built from source.
In this case, the source is VFB, FontLab's format. In order to go from
here to OTF, we must apparently package RoboFab, according to the advice
on the wiki pages, so we can export UFO using RoboFab, and feed this into
FontForge.
However, I've just taken a look at RoboFab, and I can't see a way in which
it can be used to export UFO from a VFB file without having FontLab
installed. You can certainly go from TTF or Type 1 to UFO, but going from
VFB requires that FontLab has already loaded the VFB.
Firstly, has anyone examined RoboFab more closely and can tell me that I'm
missing something?
Or alternatively, would it be OK to package the TLOMT fonts with OTFs in
their zips without going from source?

LG Oski * fonts
by TK009
While looking for some other fonts to package I noticed that all the
LG Oski fonts are "All rights reserved" in the font metadata. I didn't
look at any of the other LG fonts. As the fonts wish list page says
GPL3 I was a bit confused.
More additions to the retirement page?

re: GUST fonts
by TK009
I like the fonts and have packaged them for myself already. I didn't
think they could be packaged do to conflicting licenses. If they can
be packaged as is, I am all for that, I didn't believe they could be
without creator intervention. Regarding the emails I sent, I am very
far from a zealot so I included no freetardiness in them. I was very
polite and respectful.
If they can be packaged as is I will gladly package them up. Let me
know. If they can not, then imho they should be removed from the wish
list. There is no reason to bow down to anyone and this creator has
reached that line.

GUST fonts
by TK009
Hello all,
I've been interested in packaging the GUST fonts. Twice now I've tried
to contact the creator of the fonts, the first time about 3 months ago
and again two weeks ago without success.
These fonts should be retired wishlist.

Introduction, and ADF Gillius packaging
by Marc Stewart
Hello!
I'm trying to make the move from user to contributor, and think that a
bit of font packaging is something I can do. Since there are already a
couple of ADF fonts packaged to use as a reference, and it is first on
the list (at least alphabetically), Gillius looks like a good place to
start.
I've already done the fontconfigs, and am about to install
fontpackages-devel for the packaging proper, so I thought I'd best say
"hello" before I need to start asking questions.
Incidentally, there seems to be a little contradiction in the
instructions. The Joining the Fonts SIG wiki page says to "apply to the
packager group by clicking the Apply! button", but the linked packager
group page disagrees: "Please do not apply to this group. Your sponsor
will add you"

Packaging page ... odd?
by Dave Pawson
Just been reading
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Font_package_lifecycle
and I noted that the table is cut off on the right?
rhs cells don't show.
Cleared by reducing the font on my screen? [Cntrl -]
No horizontal scroll bar available to allow me to have the larger font
and scroll over to see the content.
there's so much CSS and js used I can't tell just what the problem is,
but it is an accessibility issue for me.
