--- Comment #12 from Herman Grootaers herman@grootaers-nl.com --- Yes, I do have all Microsoft-fonts installed on my system, as well as a lot of other fonts, due to the fact that I work for others who are bound to MS, and due to the fact that I work in Church-Slavonic (old Russian/Slavonic scripts) in Latex. In Fedora 20 I had no need to look into fonts, in 19 I worked in fonts to see how I could make changes into a font, but had to discontinue that.
I have removed all mstcore-fonts from my system, but the problem is somehow more complex; because I can not start fontforge manually, that is, from the start-menu without any font.
The same behavior is when I try to open a ttf-file; I see the small icon dancing, with no result (that is an opened fontfile in fontforge).
Maybe a problem with the number of fonts installed? I have 1100 fonts installed according to the FontManager (61 personal and 1039 system-wide).
