Compile freeipa 4.7 on CentOS 7 Error

Hi,

we compile freeipa 4.7 from git. We use 7.5.1804.

when we run ./configure we get the following error.

checking for a sed that does not truncate output... (cached) /bin/sed
checking for msgattrib... /bin/msgattrib
checking supported IPA platform... configure: error: IPA platform centos is not
supported

is there anything what we have to do?

It probably should be detecting the platform as rhel but either way you
will have a very difficult time getting 4.7 to build and install in
CentOS due to a slew of missing dependencies.

thanks fort he answer. Is it planned to port it to rhel and centos? Is there a timeframe
because its a product from rhel redhat idm?

I can't comment on timelines or roadmap for RHEL but you might want to
check out the EL 7.6 beta.

Typically CentOS gets
builds after a corresponding RHEL release is
published. We as FreeIPA are not involved at all in how CentOS does its
builds of ipa packages there.

As an integration project, there is a number of moving dependencies we
have to deal with. FreeIPA 4.7 has a number of requirements that aren't
fulfilled by RHEL 7.5 and the best we have is FreeIPA 4.6.x in RHEL 7.6
beta. That one should come to CentOS 7 soon, I guess:
