The users have working smart card login on windows. What should i look at. The IPA is Version 4.4.0 on RHEL 7.3 and the main test computer is RHEL 6.8. I have no issues getting it to work for IDM users. I have the certificate attached to the user account in AD as its usercertifcate. I cannot find much info on how to troubleshoot certificates for AD based users. ipa find-certs only shows certs for idm users. "Ra

ipa-replica-install hanging at `[29/44]: setting up initial replication`

Running FreeIPA out of Docker (`adelton/freeipa-server:centos-7` image), `ipa-replica-install` hangs at `[29/44]: setting up initial replication`. FreeIPA upgrade

Hello, We are trying to upgrade FreeIPA- v4.1.3-1.el7 on our master server which is CentOS 7.0.1406. We were getting other conflict issues, which were fixed with updating yum. We are not able to go further without following Error, while both RPMs in questions are already present and I can same message if tried to update pki-server, while for pki-tps-tomcat it says nothing to update. We have CA certificate on our server ds01. We are also not able to add a replica, because of some certificate issue. Krb5.conf only sees first two kdc servers

As far as I know krb5.conf does not have limitations on the number of KDCs that can be listedhttps://web.mit.edu/kerberos/krb5-1....krb5_conf.html I have 3 servers that I would like to be read. I have no problem with at least two being listed there.kdc=server1kdc=server2 when I shutdown server1 authentication happens without trouble against server2.But when I list 3 servers therekdc=server1kdc=server2kdc=server3 and shutdown server1 and server2 authentication fails. My theories about this are:1. there is a variable that specifies max number of kdcs. Seems unlikely2. Bug. Also unlikely3. There is a variable that specifies total number of seconds to wait before giving up.I tried playing with max_timeout and max_retries but that didn't help I'm drawing blank as to why only first two kdc lines are honored and would appreciate any advise. PS: I would also be interested in more information on relationship between sssd.conf and krb5.conf It seems like I can configure sssd.conf with ipa_server=_srv_, <explicit fqdn> Then why is krb5.conf is necessary at all?

FreeIPA and Foreman

So I just installed foreman on my puppet and ansible instance and got it working. After I installed it and got it working. I joined the server to the my FreeIPA domain. I now get the following error whenever I try to restart apache. By the way this is CentOS 7 latest. Free IPA trust based AD users are not prompted for smart card pin.

I cannot get smart card login to work for users from my AD trust on IPA clients. The users have working smart card login on windows. What should i look at. The IPA is Version 4.4.0 on RHEL 7.3 and the main test computer is RHEL 6.8. I have no issues getting it to work for IDM users. I have the certificate attached to the user account in AD as its usercertifcate. I cannot find much info on how to troubleshoot certificates for AD based users. ipa find-certs only shows certs for idm users. "Ray" Frank Reynolds

ZFS over Kerberized NFS

Is anyone playing with NFS with ZFS on FreeIPA networks? I am virtualizing my home network infrastructure; To wit: -CentOS 7 with ZFS and KVM hypervisor as the host, one Windows 2012 R2 guest running ActiveDirectory, the rest of the guests are mostly Fedora 25; -FreeIPA -> AD trust is working, and I can sign into a AD Domain user on all clients; -I have all my files (Media, HTML files, etc) on the host in a ZFS partition, I tried using the ZFS-native NFS sharing options, but ended up with question mark permissions... So I have exported the root file system with Kerberos authentication and Secure NFS, with crossmnt set in the options, and now my client can mount and view the contents of the ZFS shares... -But I have lingering permission issues... Apache can't read anything (Even with 777 permissions set and SELinux set to Permissive), regular users can read, can write, but can't create directories or change permissions (Even on files they own). I'm not sure if I should attack the problem from the angle of SELinux being the culprit, or ZFS being the culprit, or some ID mapping issue... But I'm certain that the combination of ZFS, NFS, and FreeIPA is poorly documented... So any experience from the community would be greatly appreciated :p

Integrating a server which only supports kadmin

Hi list, A bit of a longshot: We have a Dell/EMC Isilon cluster, which we use for NAS. I am considering to set up Kerberos authentication for NFSv4, but I'm not able to create the Service Principal Names (SPNs). I believe kadmin is not supported by the FreeIPA servers, but wonder if there are any work-arounds. I can configure the KDCs, domain and realm successfully in the Isilon UI. The UI then asks for a username and password, and which SPNs to "Add". When I use the admin user, this fails right away (with an error "Failed to join realm: LW_ERROR_KADM5_AUTH_ADD"). It doesn't matter if I create the service principal in the FreeIPA system first, I get the same error. The UI doesn't have an option to take a keytab, just a username and password. I'm curious if anyone has been able to work with systems which insist on using the kadmin protocol. (LDAP is working perfectly) Thanks, Marius
