I found the above errors were due to issues with dse.ldif. Something went wrong in the upgrading of that file it appears and it ruined the syntax removed required options in multiple places. I have reverted this file to the backup that was auto-created. Now getting errors that the connection to dirsrv is failing with a timeout (which is expected since it is not running). Trying to work through that now.
