Using Python kernel

Hello,
while reading the manual (man ipa), I’ve noticed there’s a way to access the Python « kernel », for lack of a better word.
What is that « kernel »’s exact purpose?

Are you referring to the "ipa console" command?

The console is an interactive python interpreter where you can call IPA
API. For instance:
[root@server ~]# *kinit admin*
Password for [e-mail]:
[root@server ~]# *ipa console*
(Custom IPA interactive Python console)
    api: IPA API object
    pp: pretty printer
