I don't know a ton about it but...

It is still a WIP. SSSD 1.16.0 added support for session logging via
tlog, see sssd-session-recording(5)

The upstream for tlog is https://github.com/Scribery/tlog

I checked this part on Friday but was still not able to make a full working environment.
Will try to spend some time to play with today. If someone has a good tuto on how to set
this up, glad to share it here.
