FAS Integration
by shreyankg@gmail.com
Hi,
[1] is a script I wrote that will accept FAS username and password via
command-line arguments and tell you whether it authenticates or not.
# Usage:
$ ./checkpassword.rb <fas_username> <fas_password>
# Dependencies:
# rubygems
# libcurl-devel (required to gem install curb)
# curb - gem install curb
Gaurav, you can use code from this script to integrate with FAS.
You need to have this set as an option in app_settings.yml
If set, only users with FAS accounts can signup.
We might want to remove the email field from there and fetch that and
other such details about the user during signup.
But that's for later. :-)

Render XML/JSON/Atom
by Shakthi Kannan
Hi,
I see that HAML is being used for rendering HTML in the controller
code. I would like to suggest rendering one other format, such as
XML/JSON/Atom, as it will open up possibilities to lot of client
applications that use them.
In the long run, you do want people to write client applications to
interface with your application, irrespective of whether they are
meant to be run on the desktop or server or mobile devices.
