T-shirts

Ah, another work item to pursue. (They never end!) We have a ready made FUDCon shirt design that's been used elsewhere to great effect. But we need it updated to reflect "Toronto," and also to include a bunch of words in the logo tag cloud that reflect life in and around the Toronto area and Canada. We need two things to happen: * Someone to interact with a local vendor near Toronto who can handle production of the T-shirts, with the bill being paid by Red Hat's Community Architecture team as noted in our budget page. Determine any requirements from the vendor for formats. * Someone to work with the Design Team to get the changes made in the shirt design, as laid out above -- involves filing a ticket in the design-team Trac[1], and contacting personally to see that it gets done by, say, Wednesday Oct. 28, in accordance with vendor requirements. Bug sessions

Hi Steven, I see two sessions on the list for FUDCon concerning filing bugs: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Toronto_2009#Technical_sessions Should these be combined, or do you think it would be useful to have one session for rank beginners, and another for intermediate folks who are looking for information on how to file better bugs? I kind of like the latter approach, but I think it would be great to have someone like you (i.e. an experienced triager) teaching both of them for consistency if you're willing to do so. Paul

A/V nerds wanted

Hey List, Mel Chua asked me to post this here to get the ball rolling. I've put out a call for volunteers recently for help in documenting the fudcon, and i've had a good response on the transcription side. I want to focus a bit more on the technical side though, and the first thing to do here is get our A/V nerds together (i use the term in only the most lovingly way possible) to help us record the event itself. Can someone please go back through our collective memory and remind us how we organized the live audio and video streaming of Fudcon last winter in Boston? I think that should be our starting point. Bus update

I talked to Bruce Barrows this morning at Local Motion of Boston. We have a bus reserved, and he is preparing the formal quote and expects to get it to me by tomorrow (2009-10-16). The bus is a 36-seat coach, with a restroom on the bus (yay!). Bruce expects right now that the retrofit they are doing to add power (yay!) and wifi (YAY!) will be completed by mid-November. Although the bus is lightly used -- 200K miles, which is considered "cherry" in travel terms -- this will be its maiden voyage for LM. In addition to the retrofitting, Bruce advised that the bus will have gone through a very thorough mechanical inspection in his shop when it hits the road, and we should expect a very pleasant journey. :-) -- Paul W. FUDCon travel funding: Round 1

Paul and I have gone through all the current funding requests for FUDCon and allocated budget for the people who've requested it. 1. $500 for Sebastian Dziallas approved 2. $240 for Steven Parrish approved 3. $600 set aside for David Nalley 4. $475 for Ian Weller approved conditional on the addition of the running of a user track (to be specified later with us) to his plans 5. $700 for Matthew Daniels conditional on teaching of a user track TBD 7. Rex Dieter approved for $500 8. $150 earmarked for Aaron Seigo on condition of application 9. Pascal Calarco $120 approved conditional on deliverable of finalized FWN workflow in zikula. Send in your FUDCon funding proposals!

Hi there - you're getting this email because you indicated that you'd like sponsorship to attend the upcoming FUDCon in Toronto this December. We need to figure out how much everyone needs to attend, and what they'll be doing; we'll make every effort to make it possible for everyone to come (we'd love to see you all!) - that having been said, resources are scarce, but we will do the best we can. Please put, on your Fedora wiki userpage (or whatever the link for your name in the table at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Toronto_2009#Pre-registration leads to), the following information: 1. How much funding you need (if how much funding you absolutely need is different from the amount of funding you would ideally like, put both numbers) 2. What you'll be doing at FUDCon - what sessions will you run or help out with, what hackfests will you be participating in and what will you be bringing to the table, what user tracks can you teach? 3.
